I think the hardest gym leader was Whitney but she wasn't unbeatable. If you have a geodude that has evolved into graveler then rollout won't kill it. She only surprised me because I used a quilava to beat her which surprisingly worked. But Blue in the Pokémon silver was also pretty hard since he had no one type so he caught me off guard and I actually lost.

seremph : I didn't have it sadly but it sounds like a good idea. Although it's smart to have several types, you can also use many strong Pokémon that way who all have type advantages.
