My top ten games are mainly SNES games, as I grew up with the console:

10: SimCity. I had many memories with this game as a kid, and while it may not be the greatest game on the SNES, it was an excellent launch title.

9: CoD: Black Ops. I only put this up here because it was the only CoD I enjoyed( other than WaW), and it wasn't for the gameplay or graphics. It was because of the history involved in the storyline, what with the Cold War and the Vietnamese War. Sure, the actual storyline is fictional, but it really spiked my interest in the Cold War.

8: Banjo Tooie. This game is great in all its aspects; the graphics are appealing, the music is delightful, and the characters are fun and interesting. The worlds are also greatly detailed. The only reason it is so low is the sudden change of mood from Kazooie to Tooie, becoming more dark(but also more realistic).

7: Super Mario World: It is a delightful game, yes. Everything there should be in a Mario game is there, challenging levels, fun and unique worlds, great controls and platforming, and even a ton of secrets to be found. But I am one of few who doesn't like the sudden change in setting all that well. I still love it, and Dinosaur Land is a great overworld, but as a kid, I didn't like it too much.

6: The Legend of Zelda. I am a late comer to the series, as I only just started playing it a couple of years ago. But this game is my first experience in the series, and I love it. Iconic music, challenging Dungeons, great character designs, and a nice little plot. Perfect mix for a game.

5: Super Mario All Stars. Does this need to be explained? All of the first 3 classic mario games, in higher definition and better quality? As well as the Lost Levels, the true Mario sequel only released in Japan? Count me in.

4: Gex 3D: Enter the Gecko. None of my friends like this, but what's wrong with it? Nice voice acting, colourful worlds, wacky enemies, a large spectrum of moods and environments, and a Godzilla-like robot as the penultimate boss. Nice.

3: Donkey Kong Country. I don't like this game enough for it to be on top, but I still love it. With it's revolutionary graphics, pleasant soundtrack, imaginative enemies and a huge amount of secrets to be found, anyone can have hours of entertainment with this gem of a game.

2: Super Mario 64. Now, this game, I played non stop as a kid. Still one of my regulars today. I think it is the greatest Mario game, even exceeding SMB3, but I think that only I have that opinion. Nevertheless, it peaks at number two on my list.

1: Super Metroid. C'mon, who doesn't love this game? As a kid, I played the hell out of this game. Great atmosphere, great bosses, great setting and an excellent amount of depth make this game up, and I love it.

In no particular order, these are my favorite games/game franchises, with my favorite games from the franchises. I'm not going to list each individual game because that would go way over the 10 limit and there are more than one game from each franchise I would consider to be one of my favorites.

Uncharted - Uncharted 3
Assassin's Creed - Assassin's Creed 3
Final Fantasy - Final Fantasy VII
Pok?mon - Pok?mon X & Y
The Last of Us
Call of Duty - Call of Duty: World at War (CoD 5)
The Legend of Zelda - The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Southpark: The Stick of Truth (they have made more than one southpark game but it hasn't really been a franchise)
Mario - Super Mario 64
The Elder Scrolls - The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

My top ten video games are as follows...in no particular order.
  • Tomb Raider Underworld. This game really solidified how much I love the Tomb Raider franchise.
  • Tomb Raider (2013). I loved the reboot and origin story of how Lara Croft began.
  • Dragon Age: Origins. I originally bought it because of how much I loved Mass Effect and BioWare and thought I'd love it too. The gameplay was infuriating at times, and some parts were excessively difficult, but the story and characters made me a huge fan.
  • Dragon Age 2: Gameplay-wise and graphic-wise, this game was leaps and bounds better then DA:O. Again, the characters and story are what hooked me.
  • Borderlands 2. I liked the first game, but such a lackluster ending and complete lack of story wont get it on the list. The second game was much better IMO. More story and the addition of the characters from the first game were perks for me. Plus...Maya's awesome.
  • Buffy The Vampire Slayer for the XBox is still a fave game of mine. Love everything about it.
  •  Goldeneye 007. Nuff' said.
  • Mass Effect. My Aunt and uncle kept telling me about this game they were playing: Mass Effect 3. I didn't know anything about it, and just assumed it was a first person shooter or something. They ended up borrowing me the first two games. I just remember thinking that I wouldn't like it and I really didn't want to play as that douche on the cover. Once I got started I was pleasantly surprised that I could create my own Shepard and make my own dialogue choices. I fell in love with the character's, the story, the universe, everything.
  • Mass Effect 2.  Already a fan, this game didn't disappoint.
  • Mass Effect 3. I know there's so much negativity surrounding the ending, and I'm not saying it's perfect by any means, but I love this game. Yes, it's flawed, but it still has all the character's that I'd come to love, and the Mass Effect universe that is so much fun. I don't hate the ending at all. This was the first video game series that I really liked and I wasn't going to shun it and the journey of getting through it, because of the ending.
Okay, it was harder than I thought it would be to think of 10 games. Honestly, I would boot Underworld, Goldeneye and Buffy for Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider if I could. I know those are going to become favourites.

10. Wario World [ NINTENDO GAMECUBE ] ( It was funny, It was difficult, and it was AWESOME! Nintendo really needs to make more Beat-Em-Up's like this. Minus some control issues I had with it at the time, it was pretty enjoyable! And it has one of the best credits tracks I've EVER heard EVER! )

9. Scott Pilgrim VS The World: The Game [ XBOX, Play Station ] ( It's about time the long gap between retro gaming's Beat-Em-Up's and modern day Beat-Em-Up's was bridged, and Scott Pilgrim did just that! While it's not exactly perfect, it's not the worst downloadable game either. Defiantly recommend this one! )

8. Spider-Man: The Movie Game [ NINTENDO GAMECUBE, Play Station, XBox ] ( By far an improvement over the N64 and PSX Spider-Man games. The voice acting was top-notch, the character's looked wonderful, and the music was FANTASTIC! To bad it was pretty short in scale compared to it's sequel. )

7. Metroid: Zero Mission [ GAMEBOY ADVANCE ] ( This game gives Super Metroid a run for it's money! It was so cool, so awesome, and so top-notch, DoctorM64, who all Metroid fans should know by now, used it's engine and it's design on AM2R, his remake of Metroid 2. Clearly, Zero Mission made a very drastic impression on the Metroid universe. )

6. Super Metroid [ SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM ] ( A complete masterpiece! Superb controls, superb gameplay, superb graphics, and superb sound, even though it was kind of quiet throughout a lot of the game. Super Metroid paved the way for more superior Metroid Games, such as Prime, Fusion, and more. )

5. Conker's Bad Fur Day [ NINTENDO 64 ] ( As mature as this game is, with it's uncensored swearing and adult themes, Conker's Bad Fur Day was the BEST N64 game on the market, and pushed the limits of not only the "M" for Mature rating, but also pushed the N64 to the very limits of the console. To bad the XBox port wasn't as great. Also, why did they cancel the sequel? That just screams total jerk move. )

4. Metroid Prime [ NINTENDO GAMECUBE ] ( The first 3-D Metroid game, and the first Metroid First-Person-Shooter. By far, the best of the bunch. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes falls short when compared to it, and 3: Corruption doesn't hold a candle to the GameCube classic that started the entire 3-D age of Metroid. Great job, Nintendo! )

3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess [ NINTENDO GAMECUBE, Wii ] ( THE BEST 3-D Zelda game EVER! This game crushes Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker in terms of graphics, has wonderful music, even though many people get on it's case for being MIDI, and Skyward Sword, while excellent, isn't as good as Twilight Princess. Clearly, Nintendo knew what they were doing when this Zelda game hit the market. )

2. ROBLOX [ PC, MAC OS X, LINUX ] ( Minecraft, you don't hold a candle compared to your Bloxxy brother! ROBLOX is by far the BEST online building game, where pretty much ANYTHING is possible! From First-Person-Shooters, to Action, to Beat-Em-Up's, or a simple game of building, ROBLOX has it all and more! And best of all, IT'S FREE TO PLAY! BEAT THAT, Minecraft! )

1. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle [ NINTENDO GAMECUBE ] ( SA2B Is by far THE BEST Sonic game ever! Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Lost World cannot compare to what is considered by many the GREATEST 3-D Sonic game of all time! SA2B had it all: Fantastic single-player story, multiple gameplay styles that actually work, excellent multiplayer, and best of all: THE CHAO GARDEN! Come on, who doesn't like the Chao Garden? Clearly, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is the best of the best. It crushed Sonic Adventure DX, flattens all the modern 3-D Sonic games, and the Advance games on the GBA can link up to it to further add to the awesomeness. WHOO! )

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
- Super Mario 64
- Sim City ( SNES )
- The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask
- The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Lock's Quest
- Metroid Fusion
- Felix The Cat
- River City Ransom
