Both are really good games. I have found that for me personally Mega Man have been the more challenging but if your wanting an all around best game experience out of either one of them I would go with Sonic.

i would choose megaman because a few years ago i decided to beat them all... and well... i beat them up until about megaman 6 i think...

they're all pretty easy to beat though, i can usually beat one in about an hour or so
