deg2000 : What do you mean? Your Mudkip is level 19. That is more than enough to go into the next city. Unless you don't want to of course, and you are ok with staying in route 8 for ever.

As I wake up I look over to see that the greatball has opened and the pokemon has escaped. I look at the empty pokeball with tears in my eyes. My one chance to battle the gym, why oh why has this cruel faith been put upon me. All I wanted was a Turtwig but when I awoke I was greeted with nothingness instead. After I get over my sad and poetic stage I decide to go and look for another pokemon in the grass. Hopefully a water or grass type so I actually have a chance at the gym.

NOW since i beat trainer bob i go to pokemon center and heal my pokemon and go back to the gym and challenge gym leader mark and start with my pidgey and i tell pidgey to use gust

Replace growl with Double Kick, and peck isn't learned.
