Apparently the final step after doing everything in the (very helpful!) original post, is to delete your cookies and you "Java history" (whatever that is; I just deleted my Form & Search History, Cache and Offline Site Data along with the cookies) and then restart your browser. That did the trick for me.

tRIUNE : OK, I did what this said, but I still can't play games. When I try to play something that needs the vizzed plugin, it tells me that I don't have it installed even though I do, and when I try to play a game without the vizzed plugin, it blocks my Java. tRIUNE : When I try to play the game, the window opens, but the place where the game should appear there is a gray screen that, when I hover my mouse over it, says that Java needs my permission to run, even though I have done everything with the exceptions. Neither of those pop ups show up. I have never tried emulators before, so I have no idea what I'm doing.
