Well, I have always been curious to find out. When you encounter a creeper, how do you actually react? Has it ever destroyed any of your creations? Have you ever encountered any funny accidents with them? Share your stories with them here! Well, for me, to be honest, I never had any funny or crazy moments with them which is why I'm curious to see what others would say about it.

Anyways, you guys?

Usually I am fine with creepers, they add a good deal of difficulty to the of the game and to defeat one actually takes some challenge, however one time a creeper crept into my bedroom only to give me a surprise in the morning.

This happened when I first got Minecraft for the Xbox 360. At the time the game was really far away from the PC version update wise so there were quite a few bugs. Usually the game would recognize a house of yours and mobs wouldn't spawn in but if you put your bed near the wall then there is a chance you could be woken up to a horrible surprise.

As you may guess the creeper was there when I woke up yet I didn't see it when I heard the hissing. I thought it was just outside the house and that it wouldn't explode because it couldn't see me but no it was right behind me and I was blown up. There were another two creepers outside so when the first one went off the others did too making the game produce a really really loud boom. This scared me so much and my house was just a few wooden planks afterwards.

Creepers have blown up my houses many, many times.

Usually they don't do great damage. I do remember losing countless valuable items when obsidian mining in a lava cave. It was a local bukkit server and I was playing with some friends.

I kept going back and we all kept dying after retrieving items. Of course, there were a few skeletons, but the majority were creepers. The difficulty was hardcore, but I have a lingering suspicion that someone was spawning them.

Creepers have actually never blown up my house, probably because i always build my houses in remote, well lit areas.
I do, however, remember one instance where i was walking in a cave when i hear a sssssssssssssss behind me. Turned out there was lava under the floor. I lost about 20 diamonds. Good fun.

Okay so this was a funny moment. Okay so I was out gathering some wood and I was playing online so one of the people called me back. I went back and the entire right side of my house was gone. Then he said I think we had a visit from a creeper. I was thinking really?

Oh, I can recall SEVERAL times Creepers caught me off guard hilariously. One takes place on the Z-Day Zombie Apocalypse server. My BF (Prdarkfox on DeviantArt) and I were down in some deep caverns doing some mining, and thanks to a server mod we weren't aware of at the time, all of a sudden I see this Super Creeper... well... creeping about. Seeing that blue glow immediately sets off the alarms in my head, and I immediately let out these... weird little short scream bursts because its caught me so off guard. PDF's all, "Sakura, what's gotten into y-" THAT'S when he turns and sees the Super Creeper as well. Needless to say, we both headed for the hills. We're brave, but we're not stupid. Apparently there was a server mod applied that allowed Super Creepers to spawn naturally rather than be spawned only by a Creeper being struck by lightning. Would've been nice to know ahead of time... as well as when they applied the Giant Zombie mod. [sarcasm]Thanks for the advanced warning, Z-Day staff![/sarcasm]

Another time was actually on the embarrassing side. I was on a vanilla server, the only player online, and was working around my fort quietly enough. I stepped inside mid day to get some wooden logs from a chest, leaving the door open as I'm only gonna be like, two seconds right? As I'm in the chest, I suddenly hear "SssssSSsssss... BOOM!". ... glad no one else was on the server to see that.

This isn't to say I haven't used Creepers to my advantage though. I remember once I led a Creeper into a Skeleton dungeon to neutralize the spawner and save me the trouble of mining up a small portion of that lovely mossy cobblestone. >3

I saw a headless Creeper once, while I was defending a village at night. I used a seed for a village, and I made the save because I was sick of pretending to defend villages in Survival...

Before I am treated to all the "zomg fake" posts, there has been more than enough reports on the internet of headless mobs (and not just headless either).

This scared me from playing Survival, and I am even afraid of such experiences now, despite how it is a mere glitch in the game.
And yes, I'd call it a dramatic experience. Very panicking.

In my main survival world (Peaceful Survival), I accidentally left the game on Easy when exploring a ravine. A Creeper came and blew me up. A funny mistake on my part.

One of the recent games I played was with a friend in Survival.  I found my way down into a dungeon where I was finding a lot of useful and valuable resources only to find myself staring at two Creepers with nowhere to run.  I'm still not sure how I managed to survive the encounter (Lots of button smashing and screaming at the xbox were involved.) but as soon as both Creepers were dead, I closed my eyes for a second and took a deep breath.  When I opened my eyes a couple of seconds later, I was greeted by the sight of a third creeper standing right in my face.  Needless to say, my luck didn't hold with the third one.

I can also think of one time that I was encountering so many Creepers that I started using them to help excavate a large hill so I wouldn't have to dig it out (More for fun than anything else)  Whenever I would see a Creeper, I would lead it to the hill, then let it get close enough to light its fuse, then I would back off real quick before it had a chance to go off.

My initial reaction when I see a Creeper most of the time is to put a little distance between myself and it, then take a look around for other threats before deciding how to handle things.  If nothing else is around, then I will try to take it down when I feel adventurous.  If there is something around, I will either try to lead it towards the other threat and try to set the Creeper off close enough to kill the other mob, or if I'm feeling cautious, I will bolt for whatever safe haven I have in the area in hopes of avoiding a confrontation.

One time, I was descending the ladder into my mine to get some ores and other stuff, when I saw a creeper in one of my shafts. It came towards me and I tried to kill it, but all I had was an iron sword. It blew up my mine.

Another time was when I was outside of my house at night and a creeper spawned IN one of the fence blocks forming my fence. I tried to kill it by using the old knock back method, but it wouldn't go as far as it needed to and it blew up a corner of my house.

I had a creeper that has sneaked up behind me when I was gaining all the items from my garden (I made one of those automatic garden things), well, I have turned around and that is when it started to hiss, but luckily I had an iron sword with Knockback II and knocked him out of range and  finished him off and only got 1 gunpowder from that though.

But another time, while I was mining in an Abandoned Mine Shaft, I happened to fallen into a section with cobwebs with cave spiders, I was taking care of the Cave Spider spawner and all of a sudden, I seen a creeper coming up while I was still in the cobwebs and it exploded and left me with only a half a heart left (I I had iron armor on).

Even when I see a Creeper in advance, I always happen to freak out when it gets close to me. Even when I have a Diamond Sword with Knock back power, I'm always afraid I'll lose my precious items or they'll destroy my amazing creations.
