They both look the same only with different colors in Smash Bros which is where the question comes from . I don't really sea why they have different names though.

I think that what you're talking about is this.

In Smash bros Brawl, Each Star Fox character uses a Landmaster in their final smash, but each character's landmaster is different.

Falcos:

Can hover longer(?) and has more control when hovering. Don't get on top of it!

Fox's:

Is balanced, and has greater attack power than Falcos

Wolf's:

Is more powerful than Fox's and can hover as well as Falco's if not better.
But, it only lasts half as long.
