I originally started working at the YMCA because a girl worked there and I had a huge crush on her.  We did youth sports and coached/instructed soccer, basketball, and baseball for kids.  It was fun to work with the kids but it turned out the girl was a terrible person with a really negative attitude and I didn't like her at all.  She decided to get another job and left.  I joined the Marines, got married and lived in Boston for a while, went back to Hawaii, and ended up at a YMCA in Michigan.

I'm coaching sports again, too.  I love it.  I love to teach kids how to move their bodies and develop their physical and strategic skills.  I love to show them teamwork and how having a bunch of people on the same page leads to success and victory.  Its awesome to see their faces when the things they do work in games and they can see themselves getting better.  I do membership and marketing but I'm as hands on as I can be when it comes to teaching and coaching.  I know I have a direct impact on the lives of kids from 3 to 18 and I know they see the world a little differently and hopefully a little better after they're done with me.

Historian. Either a teacher or dunno.

Reason why? I just find how interesting things change throughout the years. From the the Greeks to Romans, the new world to the revolution war, and the so forth. Technology advancing, people adapting, and the way the earth is changing, just gives that spark of interest that I so desire. Going to start college this fall and take out the basics before starting to build my career.

I had an epiphany one night:

My girlfriend at the time and myself were sitting down to watch the movie Backdraft. I put some popcorn in the microwave and started up the movie. Just as I thought to myself "that popcorn should have been done a while ago"; I noticed the smoke pouring out of the kitchen. I had put the popcorn in for 30 minutes instead of 3. Oops. The flames shot up the TV screen... BACKDRAFT. I grabbed the smoldering popcorn bag with a potholder and threw it outside. It was that moment I decided to become a firefighter.
The movie Backdraft itself is unrealistic. As I entered my career as a student and volunteer I realized that most of what the fire department does is medical and not the glorious kicking in doors and rescuing people as seen in popular culture. My fascination with disease processes and the physiology behind it made para-medicine my second and honestly more rewarding goal.
In my career I see awesome events and terrible ones but I wouldn't change a thing. You could say I'm adrenaline junkie who found a adrenaline producing career. I hope everyone finds the work that makes them happy. Someone who loves what they do never works a day in their life!

When I applied to uni my first choices were nursing schools. I loved health education in upper-secondary and middle schools, and my dream was to specialize in health and nutrition. In the end I wasn't accepted and I decided to leave it at there. Even though I felt a bit depressed after not getting qualified for the interviews during the days of the entrance exams, I laughed so hard when I received my suitability results. On a scale of 1 to 60, my personality and preparedness to work in health sciences was a big fat 0. On top of that, if I paid 20€ I would've gotten a specific analysis of what to improve before the next entrance exams. Changing my personality for a job? No thank you! Also, when I saw the people, mostly girls who got applied, I knew immediately that I was in the wrong place. I probably would've been very lonely in the nursing school because after listening to the girls talk for ten minutes or so I was horrified of the extent of their vanity and... lameness. The course I'm in right now have awesome people that I'm happy to call my friends!

My Plan B was computer sciences and business. My brother and dad work in IT and choosing the same branch felt somewhat natural. I didn't do it only because of my family but IT felt like a safe choice and something that would interest me hobby-wise as well. I got in with flying colours and even though I'm not too interested in the business aspect of the education, I ended up liking what I study more than I had first expected. I was also interested in programming before I applied but after a couple of networking and security classes I knew that my interest lied in the world of bits and cable disasters. So in short I'm going to become a BBA because I don't like math enough to take up engineer courses.

I'm going to become a lawyer, and what inspired me was Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney- I mean just the career seems like something I'd like to do. I never got much justice in my life, and I don't want that to happen to other people. I'd like to defend the innocent and prosecute the guilty, even if I can't do it all the time. (Plus it pays good )
