Dumb idea to do the draft, cause a bunch of novice losers who wont want to go will get killed cause they simply suck. Thus wasting our time and money. They should have something called the selective draft where leet kids can sign up because they want to go kill terrorists. Like me.

ps - recruiters arent sending you to your death, because A. you dont have to sign up and B. the only people who sign up are the people who WANT to do their duty in their field or study or just want to go and serve. Not sit around and complain about American society.

You have a point there John. But often times you have to do something bold, and usually rude, in order to get something across. Something subtle hardly ever works.

John, when I read this I had to look at your name to know it was you lol. I agree the first part of this, but the second part I don't. Sorry to confront directly but it's not a huge confrontation. You do seem to do everything for your cause and refuse to see other's views. I agree Nasus, that John's view contradicted himself. But does that mean we should post an altered belief just to suit our cause? I don't have anything here to say about Jin^^

I agree, it's almost offending to be honest. For reasons I wish not to post however.

I'm pretty sure I'd look at this issue differently if he was at say, a mall.

But this was a college campus. Come on!

That kinda makes me mad. Bought death? My cousins, uncles, realitives, friends.... and even my own father has bought death then, and in 2 years i will also. Simply we like to defend what we were given. We love america and we show it. They don't like to go to Iraq/Afganistan, but they do it with a smile because they know they are doing the right thing, they know they are doing their job, they know they are fighting for their children and their loved ones, they are making a difference.

War isn't about saving lives, it's about taking them.

I would never encourage anyone to join the armed forces and I sure as hell would never condone a recruiter going to high-schools and colleges like they're known to do.

There's nothing wrong with joining the military. And a war for the right purposes is not a bad thing. I don't believe in cold-blood killing, but I do believe war is necessary at times. I have respect for those who go to war that have to. I have respect for those who sign for a war they believe in. I do not have respect for someone who goes into a war for reasons that don't make any sense. Going to fight in Iraq for the purpose of protecting your family and country is bull since there is no, and has never been(as far as I know), a direct threat on the US from Iraq. Going in there because you want to help people that can't help themselves is a better reason. If you want to protect the country, go to fight the terrorism war.

Pretty much all I'm saying is that I agree with John there joining the army is not a bad thing and neither are wars. What I added is that without the right reasons then your lying and might as well just be going in because you want to kill people. Or, if you honestly believe the false reasons you follow, then it's because you've been maniputlated by those trying to justify the war with those reasons.

Jin is also right though. A war is about taking lives, and that's the simple fact. The "Big Picture" is the purpose of the war and whatnot but you can't justify it with that until that purpose has been achieved. Until then, all your doing is killing people. You want to protect people? Join the local police squad.

I respect those who go to war for they are braver than I.

But I don't respect war and will never condone it unless it's ABSOLUTELY needed. Iraq was not that. And I think asking for college students and high school students to go into that war is incredibly wrong.

Other people think war is the best was to resolve hostile situations. I think it just makes more of them.

I don't think America will recover from this war in the eyes of world for a very long time.

I think your wrong on one thing. I don't think America will recover the view it has on itself for a very long time. I have a little feeling that a lot of people around the world are going to like this thing. I think that sucks but oh well, right? It's only what I think.

I think the arabs are going to see we mean business. And other countries are going to and have already applauded us for our work. It all depends on if you want to look at is a work in progress or not. Really there is not point in complaining about the war now... little too late eh? So why don't you just look at the good things we have done and sleep easier at night.

Saying we should look on the bright side of the war is like saying "Well 9/11 was a horrific day. But atleast Bush looked good because of it!".

It wasn't some sort of PR thing jin. It was a president steping up and doing his job. You put a bad spin on that one.

heh, I think recruitment (from commercials, or representatives that show up at school, etc), is the biggest form of propaganda in the USA.

War brings out virtue in a person. I honestly think that to lessen stress in prisons we should send some of the convicts in there to basic training in the army.

Its a good idea... kinda. Lets say we give a serial killer a gun and explosives, not a good idea I don't mind having recruiters in the lobby at lunch time. Maybe this is because I already know i am going to join?.....*shrugs his shoulders*
