I like more Ocarina of Time than Majora's Mask, because OoT is a lot easier than Majora's Mask in my opinion. And, this might be ridiculous, but I couldn't even find a save point at Majora's Mask first. xD That's one reason why I like OoT more, and the second reason is that I don't like that three-day cycle which Majora's Mask has. But otherwise that game is quite good.

PixelBrick : I don't really know which is best. I like both OoT and MM. If I had to choose which one I like more, though, I would have to go with OoT. I think Oot has better music than MM. I don't like the point of having a time period on MM. It makes it too...um...awkward.

In OoT, you don't have to worry about the time period. Also I love the areas in OoT better than MM.

I prefer Ocarina of Time. I think the system is more true to the Zelda game style, while Majora's Mask more relies on the story line and that cursed timer. Ocarina seems more like a game that you can walk around in and have fun, just goofing off. Those are the type of games I like. Majora's Mask feels like a game that you're supposed to beat, and that isn't what I feel like LoZ is about. Plus, I'm not a big fan of timed missions or levels... They made the whole game timed. You can guess how I feel about that. ._. Plus, like you said, the creepy pastas. I'm not into horror ANYTHING. And not only do I not like horror, I really don't handle it very well. I had a loss of sleep over the famous Majora's Mask BEN Drowned creepy pasta. I know, I know, how childish... but I am also all too aware of the capabilities of skilled hackers. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this is true. ._. That's what's so scary about it. Plus, if the video was faked, either the guy was really good at video editing, or he's really good at programming and hacking video games. Just ponder that for a while and see what you come up with. And get back to me. Seriously. Get back to me. ._.

I'd choose Ocarina of Time because the whole time travelling concept to keep yourself within the three days was utterly annoying for me.

The Orcarina of Time game will always be my favourite I got it for the GameCube when I was a kid and it was the first Zelda game I have beaten and Mojora's mask is just too creepy and hard the Orcarina of time game was just hard enough to make it fun. I agree with www.megamnzero that the mojora's mask is too short and the Orcarina of time is long but fun.

OoT is better. I really dislike the 3 day system in Majora's Mask otherwise I would probably like it better than Oot.

I like both, honestly. I was lucky enough to get to play them in the proper order when I was younger, and...well...I found Ocarina of Time far easier than Majora's Mask, but I really think that's the point.

Majora's Mask is supposed to be more difficult, just like it's supposed to be more surreal and creepy. You're supposed to be saving what amounts to a doomed world, essentially,  and one that you're never actually certain is real. If it wasn't creepy, there would be a problem with the game.

I never found the 'three days then start over' mechanic bothersome, honestly. I understand that a lot of people do, but that never actually bothered me. It was a comfort to know that I could reset time if I didn't quite get everything done and try again without the moon landing on top of me. It gave me a little respite in among the rest of the tension the game had.

I love Ocarina of Time, don't get me wrong, but it kind of lacked the sense of urgency that Majora's Mask had, and somehow I think that's essential for the type of storytelling the games were going for. (That and the blasted Water Temple in Ocarina of Time made me hate the game for a LONG time.)

All in all, I think Majora's Mask wins out as my favourite between the two. I just wish I had the money to be able to afford the 3DS version that's out now so I could play it again. I have it on the Gamecube, but my Gamecube is put up and I don't have any place to put it to play...plus I'm not really sure the disc still works. My sister got hold of it. :/

Ocarina of Time is the best out of the two games because it has no limits on the days you have to complete the game, and it has more to do than Majora's Mask does.

Ocarina of Time is clearly the better game. For one thing, there are way more dungeons and boss fights in OOT than Majora's Mask. Also the story in Ocarina of Time is in my opinion the best in the series. Majora's Mask may be a great sequel, but nothing beats the epic adventure of Ocarina of Time.

In my opinion, Ocarina of Time is the better game. Because, it had a HUGE impact on the game industry when it came out, and its sequel did too, but not as much as this. The same thing happened with the 3D remake. The first time I played this was actually the 3D remake, so when I played it, I was amazed.

I personally prefer Ocarina of Time because I never really got deep into Majora's Mask.  I like Majora's Mask and I think that it is one of the top 5 Zelda games, but there just is something about the 3 day cycle that made me feel like I didn't accomplish a lot of things.  Whenever I played the Song of Time to restart to the first day, I always felt a little guilt because most of my progress would disappear.  If Majora's Mask didn't have the 3 day mechanic, then I would definitely say that Majora's Mask is the better game.

After beating both 3D rereleases, I can honestly say that Ocarina of Time was the superior. Not to say Majora's Mask was bad, but it did feature some clunky mechanics, unreasonable sidequests, and that absolutely terrible water dungeon. Majora's Mask is pretty sweet but OoT is truly fantastic.

Ocarina of Time. Once I started playing it, I couldn't put it back down. Majora's Mask is a game I still enjoyed, but it was more confusing with all the turning back time stuff. Also I didn't really like the fact that everything you did was erased after you went back in time.

PixelBrick : I prefer MM. I just didnt care enough for any of the characters in Oot.
In MM you actually have a reason to feel bad for the characters, and it actually makes you want to help them.
Also Oot is overrated.

I grew up with Ocarina of Time. It was my favorite game. Then I played Majora's Mask...

Here are some reasons why Majoras Mask is better...

Everyone had schedules. Everyone had a certain place they were one day, and then they were somewhere else the next.

Sidequests. The schedules make it harder to achieve 100% completion because you have to follow everyone around for 3 days, apply logic to a situation and then figure out how to trigger an event.

Music. Although Ocarina of Time had some pretty original music that was nice, I just find it much more enjoyable to listen to majora's mask.

Seriousness of the storyline. The moon will fall in 3 days which will then kill everyone in Termina due to an evil spirit trapped in a mask that some freak decided to get, but was then stolen from him. The odds are completely against link in every single way.

Harder = more fun. Great Bay Temple was like water temple on drugs and then someone killed it and revived it and then satan possessed it.

If you toss nostalgia out of the window, then it becomes pretty clear what is better.

(besides, 40% of OoT was taken from A Link to the Past )

Seriousness of the storyline. The moon will fall in 3 days which will then kill everyone in Termina due to an evil spirit trapped in a mask that some freak decided to get, but was then stolen from him. The odds are completely against link in every single way.

Harder = more fun. Great Bay Temple was like water temple on drugs and then someone killed it and revived it and then satan possessed it.

If you toss nostalgia out of the window, then it becomes pretty clear what is better.

(besides, 40% of OoT was taken from A Link to the Past )

you know the whole 3 days thing in Majoras mask isn't so bad if you play the song of time backwards my favorite is probably Ocarina Of Time bigger world to explore and I like to fight Ganon and deflect his multiple projectiles with sword spin I always use to think you had to run when he did that

Oot for sure.
for me, it was easier than majoras mask.
plus I've played both versions of Oot (N64 + 3DS)
and I named my character Ben watched the creepypasta of Ben drowned, got to the line "you've met a terrible fate haven't you" and died.

RIP me
