Regarding the games you have enabled as options, one would obviously say the Pokemon series and Mario series are the overwhelming best franchises. Each game however, are the "best" franchises in their own genre.

I would say GTA is the best franchise regarding sandbox games, and GTA V has really taken the cheese regarding the tremendous work put into such an amazing sandbox of a game.

Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, and The Final Fantasy series take the cake for very popular and "best" franchises for RPGs. No doubt. Kingdom Hearts is a great series as well. I feel it is a tad bit less popular than the first ones stated, but is still a great franchise, being that it pairs up with Final Fantasy a lot, giving some good support.

For FPS/TPS, Halo and CoD are the major power houses, Saints Row, Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid not too far behind.

I do not know how Animal Crossing became popular, and it is definitely is not my type of game.

If NBA 2K is up there, I feel Madden should be there as well.

The best video game franchise for me is pokemon you know I really liked it a lot and I spend too much time for playing it in vizzed and I will buy pokemon x or y ( I can't choose from that two ) this christmas because some of my relative will give me some money to play it and I can't wait to play it new features, new pokemon and everything else.

In my opinion, the best video game franchise is Mario. Mario games were always popular. I like the gameplay of this franchise. I like to break blocks and to find mushrooms, fire flowers, ect. That are in ? Blocks. And the fact that there is many secrets in the levels make the levels very fun to play. I also played almost every game of the franchise. And by the way, my favorite game of all-time is Super Mario Bros., which is one of the most popular games of all time, I think.

Anyways, I had a tie between Pokemon, Assassin's Creed, and Super Smash Bros. They're all really good series, and have the potential to keep going, to be honest. I voted for all three, since multi-voting was enabled.

Thought I should throw my two cents in here-  I voted for Zelda, because I really like the music and the visuals, and the gameplay is pretty good, too, especially on the three-dimensional ones and Minish Cap. I also voted for Bastion, because I really like that indie game, and Assassin's Creed. I didn't vote for Mario or Pokemon, because though I like them, they're not as good so I don't want them to win.

I'm going to have to go with Metroid on this one. It's always been my favorite series for it's atmosphere of loneliness and giant worlds to be explored, not to mention all of the lore to read up on, sweet enemies, and amazing boss battles.
