The game starts off the same way Emerald does, with the Player Character moving into your new home in Littleroot town. Once you are done getting yourself acquainted with the house, head over to the house next door to meet Brandon/May

Next, head out to Route 101 where you will find Professor Birch being attacked by a Zigzagoon. This is where the first of the changes take place. Instead of the standard trio of Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, this game lets the user go back to Generation one and pick from Charmander, Bulbasuar, or Squirtle.

Once the battle is over, Birch will thank you by giving you the Pokemon that you used to thank him. He then tells you that his daughter May/Son Brandon might be able to help you on your journey. By visiting their house, you learn that Brandon/May is currently in Route 103.

Now you begin your journey by traveling through route 101 to get to Oldale town. There are three pokemon that you can find in route 101. They are Zigzagoon, Wurmple, and Poochyena, all of whom will be either level 2 or 3.
Once you reach Oldale Town, visit the Pokemon Center if needed, and make sure to visit the new and improved Pokemon Mart where you can buy items at half off their regular price.

Once you are ready, continue towards route 103. Wingull may be caught here in addition to Poochyena and Zigzagoon.

When you find Brandon/May (Rival), they will immediately challenge you to a battle and will have Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip depending on what pokemon you choose, and her pokemon will be level five. After the battle has been completed, you will want to head back to Birch’s lab which is where you receive your Pokedex.

Now you are ready to become a Pokemon Master. Equipped with five Pokeballs from Rival and Running shoes from the character’s mother, you venture back to Oldale Town. Head west down route 102, which was formerly blocked and battle Youngster Calvin, your first trainer of the game.

New pokemon that can be found here include Lotad, Seedlot, Nidoran, and Ralts. You will also find two Oran Berries, two Pecha Berries, and one potion. Once you are done battling the pokemon and trainers, continue heading west until you reach Petalburg City.

The Petalburg Mart allows you to purchase Poke Balls, also at the half price, and other items as well such as Repels and Escape Ropes. Next, you want to visit the Gym where you find your dad and you meet Wally for the first time.

Your dad then gives you the task of heading to Route 102 with Wally in order to learn how to catch a pokemon. After Wally catches a Ralts, you will return to your dad, and you will be told to head for Rustboro City which is where you will face your first gym.

Awesome! Thanks again for doing this! By the way, you can also catch Ledybas in Route 103. Also, on Route 101 you can catch Pidgeys. You might want to spend a little more time in each location just to make sure that you can get all of the Pokemon that you can get there.

tgags123 : Cool, then do you have a list of pokemon for each route? I saw the other list that you maee, but it goes hy pokemon name, not by the route numbers. I could look at evey pokemon and see if they line up with routes Iam working on, but that would take forever.
