I typically don't use grass (I'm more of a water kind of guy...) but one grass type I have frequently is Torterra. It's a very powerful pokemon and a good addition to your roster.

I like grass type pokemons, especially as a starter. Because they give me an advantage against the 2 first gym leaders. Venoshaur is my favorite one

Bulbasaur and his evolutions are my personaly favorite but what everyone else has said is good also. Vileplume is good also if you give her the right moves. I don't know alot of the newer ones but I am sure their are some great ones in their also.

My favorite grass type pokemon is Sceptile. Sceptile's signature move is Leaf Blade. The leaves are sharp as swords and can even slice down thick trees. Also, being a Grass-type Pokémon with beneficial plant parts, it can perfect moves such as SolarBeam and Synthesis, and it is a Pokémon with dragon-like characteristics, so it can learn Dragon Pulse, Dragon Claw, and DragonBreath. The seeds growing on Sceptile's back are said to be bursting with nutrients that can revitalize trees.

My other favorite grass type pokemon is Vileplume. Vileplume scatters toxic spores and releases noxious gases. Its toxic pollen sometimes triggers atrocious allergy attacks. It also has the world's largest petals which it uses to attract prey, and the larger its petals, the more pollen it scatters.

Celebi, Meganium, Venusaur, or Shaymin. Typically though, it is advised to stay away from Grass types as they are weak to fire and almost any water type can learn, for example, ice beam. And most grass pokemon's secondary type is poison meaning ground can affect it and ice is double effective.
