Hi everyone, I recently got sick of the keyboard shortcuts for gaming on my PC and I have some money to drop on a controller. I was wondering what all of you guys would recommend and why with price, adaptability and all that good stuff, I'll probably be using it for SNES games, possibly N64, so probably nothing too complicated is needed.

I personally use my PS3 controller for PC gaming, you can set it up using a program called motionjoy.  Or if you prefer 360, it has even simpler plug and play setup to run on a PC.

I play all of my emulated games on vizzed with my ps3 control, even N64 games.

I had a Playstation style controller. It was actually two controllers hooked together. I would recommend it, or another Playstation controller, because it can comfortably configure on any of the systems I've played on Vizzed (with exception of AII and such). I used it on Atari 2600, N64 (though that one can be a bit tricky), Genesis, SNES, MAME (especially loved it on MAME), and TG16. It can also run GBA and other handhelds well, and obviously works great if you play emulated PSX games with it (which I may or may not have done...I'll never confess!).

If you use it on an N64 game, I recommend using the right joystick for the C buttons, on most games anyway.

As for prices, I priced one for around thirty to forty dollars, but remember it was actually two controllers in one. The brand name I had was Welcom, I think. I'm recommending the controller style, not the brand, although mine was good.

It definitely seems Playstation controllers are the right way to go than. I think I have a 360 controller that has a wire somewhere around here, if not I know I have a ps2 one, just the bother of getting a converter (which I believe they go for only 5-10 dollars) so no big deal there. The price is pretty fair for a bunch of the Playstation styled ones that I found, thanks for the suggestions guys really saved me some money there, didn't even realize how much I don't need to buy now lol. And that motionjoy site seems to have a decent selection of controllers as well.
