Game Background: The game is based off of Pokémon Emerald(developed by gamefreak), this is a home brew hack by Earthwarrior. In this hack the creator has made it possible for the gamer to capture all of the starters in the Hoenn region(place where the game takes place). Other than that detail, the game is unchanged and follows the official version of Pokemon Emerald to the T. Now I know what your thinking "What that's it that's all the creator chose to hack", well yes and it was a brilliant decision because I've seen and played many Pokémon emerald hacks were the dialog and  Pokémon sprites as well as areas where hacked  and turned into mediocre(the dialog) and less desirable changes(dialog and areas an Pokémon sprites). The game offers fans/gamers of the Pokémon franchise the chance to go threw(in my opinion) the best story/plot in any Pokémon game and experience all the challenges of Pokémon Emerald with the luxury of  being able to capture all of the starters from the Hoenn region, but be warned the catching success rate of the starters has been altered and they do take a little bit more effort to capture.

Graphics: The animations in this hack are completely unchanged, they are what you would expect from official Pokémon Emerald, your characters reflection in the sea and oceans, excellent fully flourished color of buildings and people as well as Pokémon battle scenes.Only issue is like in the original your characters facial details(in normal walking around), well you can barley make out what there facial features look like.

Sound:  Well the sound in the game(its quality) is what you'd expect from any other game on the Gameboy Advanced System, altho the sound track on  the game itself is repetitive and gets rather annoying fast(especially in mid battle). The soundtrack does alternate depending on where you are at in the game, like for example if your on the water(using surf) you hear a wave crashing soothing sound, or in the desert you would hear a wind blowing sound.Anyways Pokémon battle cries are the same and have not been altered in any way, each move used by the Pokémon have there own respected and distinct sound.

Addictiveness: I'm very likely to play this game again for a number of reasons, mainly because of the simpleness of this hack it wasn't over done with a ton of un-necessary and un-wanted changes.I was addicted to it mainly because I liked the option of being able to raise and capture the starters because they are naturally the best out of there elemental types  with high stats and really makes assembling a well balanced team early on easy to do and rather quick.

Story: Well Earthwarrior kept it the same as official Pokémon Emerald just with the perk of having the option to catch all the Hoenn region starters early on in game. The story goes a little like this, you are a young 10 and or 12 year old boy or girl just starting out on their grand Pokémon adventure having just moved in to the new town of Littleroot in the Hoenn region. Upon going out and exploring your little town a little kid cries out someone is being attacked by a wild Pokémon, well as it turns it its the towns Pokémon professor Birch and he's being attacked by a Zigzagoon(a new Pokémon that came out for the third generation of Pokémon). Naturally the professor is distanced from his Pokémon in his PokeBall's and its up to you to save him with the aid of one of his newly obtained Pokemon.That's whats starts your journey and upon helping the professor he lets you keep the Pokémon you choose. After that you set off on your grand quest to complete your  Pokedex, you will face many challenges on the rest of your journey, frighteningly strong rivals,  equally as strong gym leader and not to mention the crippling strong and strategic elite 4 members and finally to top them all, the ultimate test for trainers traveling to the battle frontier and batting the seeming invincible battle aces. And if that's not enough of a challenge you must also stop a rather seemingly meaningless rivalry between rival crime syndicates before their actions destroy all of the natural world by awaking and using two ancient legendary Pokémon's power.

Depth: The game is rather long with a ton of activities  to do like compete in Pokémon Contest's(many levels to this, normal super,ultra, and master), battle gym leaders, as well as the elite 4 and take on the battle frontier as well and earn all the silver symbols from the frontier brains. I estimate a play time till completion to be about 5-7 days or less.

Difficulty: Well like all other Pokémon hacks, difficulty is rarely changed from the original game its based off of, this hack is no different. The games A.I. Is brainless and attacks in a very predictable and repetitive way. The game does come off especially easy if you raise a well balanced team and keep them all around the same levels.

Overall: I would recommend this game to any Pokémon fan who likes the feel and story of Pokémon Emerald with the ability to catch and raise all of the starts for the Hoenn region.
