My mom's ex fiancée thought it was a good idea to get a kitten one year, got two instead and have had them ever since... even after he moved out. The one cat ran away but we still have the other.
I've always loved cats though. They're cute, cuddly and I feel a special bond with them. I get along better with a cat than with humans. I just like animals better in general, but cats are very special to me.

My old man grew up with dogs, so he always wanted to have one in his house. Unfortunately, due to various schooling issues as well as the frequency of our road trips, we were unable to have one. Because of this, he got two cats instead, so they wouldn't be completely alone when we went on our trips. They were both very friendly, but only one would go on anyone's lap. He died a few years ago. The other is still alive and kicking at 12 years, but is five pounds overweight, so we have to keep an eye on her.  When I go out on my own and become fully stable financially, I will get a kitten or two of my own, so I can spend more time with them from youth to end.

I have a dog, well it's my Moms and I contribute towards it's life. I like her though she is rather calm and hardly plays which some people may be jealous of. I prefer my grand parents dog. He is very energetic it falls into crazy!!
