Pokemon Fire Red Review...
GRAPHICS: 10/10
This game's graphics are good. I guess they aren't anything special but they're not especially bad. Just like any other 3rd generation pokemon game the graphics are better then the first two generation's. Better looking characters, buildings and pokemon. Pretty much everything looks pretty good and clear.
SOUND: 9/10
The music is very good and I really enjoy listening to it. The music really pulls me back when I was playing Pokemon Yellow for the first time. It will always stick with me. I especially like the Team Rocket music that pops on when ever you encounter them along your journey. I also like when your rival comes up to you. The music that goes with him fits his cocky personality.
ADDICTIVENESS: 9/10
I really liked this game. I had already beaten pokemon yellow so i knew most of what i was supposed to do, but the much better graphics and other small differences kept me hooked. I, like most of the other games i played, stayed up extremely late every night until i had raised an unbeatable team, beat all the gyms, and finally beat the elite 4 and defeated the champion.
STORY: 8/10
The story is nothing really special. It's not very captivating or anything. But i guess it's not a really bad story. you are pokemon trainer Red. You start out with a decision between three great starters. Unfortunately, whichever pokemon you chose to be your starter your rival, Gary, will always chose the super effective pokemon. Together with your pokemon you go through the cities and towns, collect gym badges, defeat Gary a lot, and add pokemon to your team.
DEPTH: 7/10
This really isn't the biggest pokemon game. One good addition that was made different to the first generation was extra chain of islands to visit and guess what! Fight Team Rocket! Other then that there isn't really that many other things you can do besides continue the story.
DIFFICULTY: 5/10
This is really an easy game. There isn't really anytime where your left wondering what to do next. It is all pretty strait forward. The battles are easy as long as you have a good balanced team that is effective against everything. As long a you can match up to all your opponent's pokemon with super effective hits as an advantage your good to go.
OVERALL: 8/10
This is a good game. I'm sure almost every pokemon fan has already played it but if you haven't i highly suggest this game if your looking for your next pokemon game to play. This game is not really super special but i did enjoy it and i'm sure you will too.
