So, Have you ever been in a Flood Warning, Thunderstorm Warning, or even Tornado Warning? Have you heard someone that they said that their house was destroyed? I made this thread because here, in Georgia, There is a Severe Thunderstorm which has been in my town for more than 30 minutes and it is very warning. Have this ever happened and you were scared when there was a tornado 2 miles away from you?

Yes, I have been in all of these before, but the worst times was when hurricane Isabella came and destroyed our neighbors tree and split in half and there were flood watches too, it was like in 2004. Also another time there was a tornado watch and there was lightning and thunder and the winds actually yanked the tiles off of the roof of my house and it cut the top half of our tree as well and we lost power for an hour or so, and several other neighbors had damaged houses and destroyed or snapped trees, it was awful. But yes all of these have happened but I am glad and thankful nothing worse than some minor damage happened and I am very thankful for that.

Hmmm, I been in all kinds of severe warning, from Blizzards to Hurricanes, I tell you, with the experience I had with Blizzards when I lived back up in the north, I experience with a lot of snow, and last year when I moved to the Gulf Coast, I experience a Hurricane (Hurricane Isaac) and it was bad, so yeah, I have experience it all pretty much, well, except for a tornado.

But the biggest thing to be careful is the lightning, I nearly got struck back in 2011 while I was working during the overnight, the bolt came within 10 feet from me.

I've been in a tornado, flood, and thunderstorm warning before. Haven't gotten a tornado, thank goodness, but plenty of thunderstorms, and a few floods. I've had a small tornado come down about four miles away from me, but that's it. Luckily, it wasn't too bad.

I haven't been in ANY of these! These weather systems or natural hazards do not really take place over here in Ireland, except floods. But they're rare too. The worst weathering I've ever been in is ... Fork Lightning? It's bad, but it's not as terrible as a tornado. However, someone was hit by this terrible and instantaneous death lightning but survivedd, although his body did become brittle and almost jelly-like. He also is paralysed but he pulled through and is still alive today!

So nope, I've never been in any of those sever weather warnings but I've been close to them. Also, it hailed here, and the hailstones were the size of tennis balls. They done A LOT of damage.

I have actually been getting a few bad days, I have had a few tornado warnings around here, but they were closer to Richmond and we didn't get anything except for heavy rain and thunderstorms. That is the thing about summer, lots of rain and thunderstorms, nothing bad has happened and we haven't lost power from any of this, but I did get another storm yesterday and it snapped a few branches on our tree but that is about it for the severe weather here in Fredericksburg.

Most of it is just lots of rain and it will pass and then another system will show up on the radar and it is just more rain, so nothing more than just heavy rain and some occasional lightning and thunder, nothing too bad, just the usual heavy rain and thunder I guess.

I have been in these before. I knew someone who had a tree split their house in half. I live in Georgia too, and I do get a bunch of Severe Thunderstorm warnings. I am used to the now.

Actually I have been in many severe weather systems lately. It has done nothing all month but rain and storm where I live and it is dreadful. At least it is good for the plants, otherwise it is muggy and humid and I hate it. So yes I have been getting a lot of severe weather lately.

That has happened to me before last week and a few times before that. Last week Ohio had a Severe T-storm warning, flood warning, and tornado watch. Then a few minutes after all that was announced the T-storm just stopped and everything was all nice and sunny again

Well, a couple years before I was born, we had a minor flood. But maybe twice every year, we have some large thunderstorms. There was one last year where I suppose the lightning was pretty close to my house. It didn't look that far away, and it was literally twice as loud as regular thunder. It was seriously deafening.

I've had all three of those warnings before-- recently too. Thunderstorm warnings this week, along with the flood and the tornado warnings/watches. Life continues, regardless of what's going on with the weather-- Ohio has rather bi-polar weather.

A couple of years ago, there a tornado touched down about 3 miles from my old house, up by our mall. It ripped off roofing off a carpet place and stuff, and my dad had to take his employees and costumers into the back of the store he was working at because it was so close.

Four years ago, we got the remains of one of the hurricanes in the Gulf. It came up here, wiped out most of the state's power, brought down power lines, trees, roofing, etc. School was canceled for a few days before they got it back onto the power grid, and my family went without power for about a week. But I had friends who went two weeks without, since it was that bad.

Recently, a couple of good sized thunderstorms came through and knocked out our power. The retail store I worked at lost power and screwed up our tills for the night it went out and the day it came back on. For a hour or so, we weren't sure we would be able to open. Then the next day, my neighborhood lost power for a couple of hours.

Flooding hasn't been too bad-- after the 1913 Flood, levees were built around the Miami River to prevent it. Instead, one road used to connect two towns gets washed out on occasion and we have to cut through the neighborhoods if we want to go over a town.

But the 1913 flood has left it's mark on my community-- with it being the 100th anniversary, my town's doing a lot for it and putting up markers where the water level was. From what my mom can figure out, our house (built in 1853), was flooded up to the second floor, since we're a street over from the river.

I live on a like a half hill, so at the bottom of the one, summer like 5 ? 6 ? years ago it flooded, it flooded the entire road, making it impassable. and then flooded the river in the forest. Actually moving things and knocking down and trees in town. I went out in the storm moving trampolines and branches from the road. I had nothing better to do.
