No, I've never owned a dog, but I have plenty of friends who do, and the ones whose dogs know commands had professional help. It makes sense that what you're saying would teach them, but either it doesn't work, the people are too lazy to do it themselves or they just chose not to teach the dogs commands.

Also, it's the same way with cats. The person I was arguing with was saying that dogs are MORE obedient in that sense, which they aren't. All of my cats respond to the word "no" because they have learned from experience that we only say "no" and yell when they do something bad. If it's the same way with dogs, then there's really no difference in obedience level.

Cats are very cuddly. They're perfect comfort buddies, in my opinion. But a Dog is a friend as well... It's really hard to choose.

But having grown up with a Cat, I'd have to say Cats.
Now if only I didn't have a supposed allergy to them, all would be well.

I would like a dog more because when they are well trained they are seriously the best friend you can have, they will always have your back. The different kinds of dogs I think is greater as well. I want a beagle because they got big floppy ears and their bark is hilarious and they are a lazy type dog. It can just chill with me and stuff. Best dog ever in my opinion.
