I feel as the only reason people fight is negativity feelings are usually the main reason people just argue and fight causing other people to feel that negativity as well.

I'm not quite sure what castrated means but maybe you will get punished for something someone else did before you is because for example a project for school you would get in trouble for copying said person when they get praised for originality or same thing for adults in work depending on how old you are

Castrated is essentially removing a part of your body that you need for reproductive purposes... In this case, unless it actually happened to him, I doubt it really did. At any rate, I don't suggest letting it happen to you. I can guarantee that it's not a pretty or fun thing.

Anyways, I'm going to answer Fallman7's comments. First off, you're not very specific in what you are saying. I can imagine that whatever happened to you upset you, but your lack of specificity and your insults really do no good. I am not even sure if this is appropriate to be in this forum, but whatever. You're probably frustrated, and I understand that.

Society has a lot of people who are not as intelligent as others, some that are more intelligent, and then there are others where we don't know where they are at. I think part of the problem is that society has adopted a culture of "stupidity," particularly with a younger age. I don't really understand why this is the case, but that's really how it is. Giddy, silly girls who pretend to be completely clueless are absolutely adored by society while intelligent, sharp-witted women are derived and called derogatory names. Especially when I was a child, I was picked on for making good grades while the other students would brag about their poor performances. I really don't understand this culture, but it's one of the more prevailing aspects of our societies nowadays. And it's very sad.

Come to think of it, some variance of this society exists even with older people. I can't help but think of Nancy Pelosi's infamous words when referring to what was in the healthcare bill: "But we have to pass the bill so we can find out what was in it." That most definitely is not how things are supposed to work, and yet many in the media revered and agreed with her, and her constituents and colleagues in the House agreed. Now, when you look at this, it's absolutely stupid logic. Trust a group of politicians who are hiding what's in their bill that you will find out what's in it once it passes? Take a look at all the problems now. That's what happens in a society of dimwits.

That being said, it's more of an example than a solution or an answer to what you have asked. Part of the problem is that you have pretty much categorized yourself as some sort of superior being, and the fact of the matter is that you are no better than anyone else, just as I am no better than anyone else. I do stupid things all the time, and though they aren't on purpose, they're still stupid. But does that make me a stupid person? No. Nor does it make you a stupid person. What you need to do is disassociate the actions of a person with the person themselves, because people have different motivations for doing things, regardless of whether or not we feel those motivations are right. This is a cliché statement, but it really isn't our place to judge other people. We are merely to discern their actions and their motivations, and we must decide if we are going to grant them our time or if we will just move on. That's what I think would be best for you.

And also, we need not take away from some of the amazing things that do happen in our society. I'm an American, so I'm going to take an American perspective. Our society is not perfect by any means, but we send more money, more missionaries, and more supplies to hungry people and hurting societies than any other country in the history of the nation. Many of our people engage in acts of kindness, even in simple ways like holding a door for someone or even just saying hello, and those actions can really make a person's day brighter. You have to take the good with the bad, y'know? Not everyone is perfect, and that includes you, me, Bill Gates, and everyone else. So don't lose heart. Ultimately, it's up to you to do your part in life, and that will help to make society just a little bit better!

Albeit you take a somewhat closed-minded approach to the topic at hand, the answer to the question can be found in the erratic behavior of humanity in and of itself. We're nothing more than living beings, seeking to justify both our own and other's actions by weighing "morals" versus "logic." We attempt to act in a logical way, but our own logic isn't necessarily logic to others. There are outer factors that influence the way we act, the way we think, and the way we speak. Humanity has built itself upon mimicry; "monkey see, monkey do," if you will. The people we surround ourselves with will gradually copy our habits, speaking patterns, and trains of thought as we gradually do the same with them. We can see this not only in real life but also on the internet; in real life, accents and religion are common culprits, and on the internet phrases such as "LOL" and smilies are demonstrations as well.

Orwell took steps to approach this topic in his novel "1984," in which he explores the brainwashing of a society as a whole, among other things. One of the more powerful messages, and one that's applicable to your question regarding the moronic actions of others, is the "2 + 2 = 5" example. We can connect this with the "monkey see, monkey do" clause and see that ultimately the actions of many are the result of people simply copying the actions of others. Without overstepping my bounds here, I'd like to say that the fault is both of the system and of families as well - with parents away for most of the day and no figures to look up to in the crowded public systems, kids end up relying on each other for advice - which results in short-sighted, moronic decisions. So, if we're looking for a true source of people's erratic actions, it's simple to point the blame at, well, other people. As Nietzsche brilliantly put, "Madness is rare in individuals - but in groups, parties, nations, and ages it is the rule."

However, it's important to realize that we're all part of the problem as well. None of us are perfect, as pray75 stated, and we all have done plenty of, well, "dumb" things. And, while we were doing these "dumb" things, it's likely that the young, impressionable eyes of many were upon us. So, indirectly, we're all contributing to the problem. It spreads like a disease, and it's impossible to stop.

Which brings me to my main point: we shouldn't judge others for what we do. It boils down to the stereotypical golden rule: "One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself." Whether you're religious or not, it's a simple rule that can be applied to all and anyone and everyone can agree upon. For the sake of our own moronic actions, we shouldn't gaze upon others through a conceited, egotistical lens; rather, we should be open to what others do, and view it for more than just its face value. I'm not trying to argue that we should ignore the moronic actions of others, but rather that we not focus on them to the extent that we ignore people altogether. Because ultimately everyone is a genius in their own sense, but also a total moron as well. As John Kerry put it, "You have a right to be stupid - if you want to be."

Conflicting points of view are a main culprit of the illusion that other's actions are moronic. For example, as an atheist, I view many hyper-religious people's actions to be less than wise; however, I'm sure those same hyper-religious people view many atheist's actions to be less than wise as well. As Nietzsche put it (one of my favorite philosophers, if you couldn't tell by now), "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." Basically, from someone else's point of view, of which there are billions, you're a moron, I'm a moron, all of [x] is a moron. The proper response isn't to view all others as morons, as it only exacerbates the problem; rather, we should be open-minded to others.

In our pursuit of gaining knowledge and climbing the seemingly endless rungs of our social ladder, we can sometimes lose our sense of vision and our sense of open-mindedness. Thus is the tragedy of blindly accusing everyone else around you as being morons or half-wits. As I've addressed multiple times, this fallacious view is simply the result of conflicting points of view and convincing ourselves that we've never done something stupid, ever: something that isn't true for any person on Planet Earth. We're all alike, in the end, and the only thing that really separates us from others is a few cosmetic things and the people who surround us. So, Fallman, it's important to open your mind a bit and not view society as more moronic than yourself, as it's simply not true; after all, we're all contributing to the problem ourselves! Bertrand Russell essentially confirms this by saying, "It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence which could support this."

In summation, we have to look at the entire situation from a holistic point of view. In our attempt to balance "morals" and "logic," we sometimes come up short. Well, more than just "sometimes," as we're more erratic than we think we are. We're prone to lie to ourselves about this common fact, telling ourselves that we're smarter than everyone else and everyone else is an idiot. The path to enlightenment begins when we realize that we're not as smart as we think we are. Until then, we cannot advance as a society as a whole, as we've always been erratic, somewhat shortsighted beings, and there's no way to effectively fix it. Instead, we should focus on making the best of what we have, and drop the conceited attitude.

Fallman7 : Maybe if you read it, you'd think otherwise :V

As your first post makes me belive, this is related to how you got killed in Mafia. The timing helps. So really, nothing you say past here will make me believe otherwise.

Maybe if you went out and searched for yourself instead of asking others on a site majorly made for Video Game chat (dominated mostly by an age group of 9-13 or 16-19), you'd be able to find your answers quite quickly, Nya~.

You are on the same level as Bill Gates, as you claim, so it can't be that hard, right?

MegaRevolution1 : yeah listen it has nothing to do with that I saw honey boo boo for the first time and that is what fueled this thread and if you don't believe me screw you I have a button to be pressed if you don't prove that society isn't so bad and could possibly be saved.

Alright, well, perhaps it is best to tackle the problem head-on: why do you hate society so? Society is simply a conglomerate of differing opinions and peoples from all points of view. So, yes, there are quite a few moronic things floating out in society, but these moronic things are more or less the minority. Instead of taking such a pessimistic viewpoint, perhaps you should look at the millions of people who are working day and night to create technologies and ideologies to feed millions and further advance humanity as a whole. For every reality TV show fanatic there's a dozen physicists, authors, peace leaders, and philanthropists.

Furthermore, (and I'll put this bluntly) who are you to judge what's moronic and what's not? What made you an omnipresent, all-knowing, genius of a man? Nobody can fulfill your definition of "not being moronic," unfortunately, not even yourself. Open-mindedness is the key to advance society and advance yourself, not taking an Orwellian approach to making a "dystopian utopia." Again quoting Bertrand Russell, "Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric."

Until you think society as a whole should "live," you are nothing but a dead weight on the track to progression, the very fiber holding humanity back.

Society as a whole has degraded as a whole over several years and it has came to a manageable but dangerous level. Think like me for a moment. Imagine if all the smart people die all the Steve jobs and what nots just died. Right now all the smart people that made everything work for you and me just vanished and only the normal and stupid people were left. In that instance society just jumped off the per verbal chair killing itself. This senecio isn't that far off reality think about who has a lot of kids realy stupid people mabe because they can't figure out contraception but on the adverse look at who don't have a lot of kids really smart people. Why I don't know but think of all the geniuses from the past 30 years not many big families from really smart people. But back to my point if smart people die and it's just stupid people and us normal people how long would civilized society exist for three months maybe or even years but eventually we will degrade back to cavemen esque beings. All I'm saying is if I gave you a hatchet and a thousand years in the woods how long before I received an email from you.

all the smart people are dead?

You realize that there have been a lot of people far smarter than Steve Jobs that have lived that are long dead. Smart people come and go. Someone will fill his shoes and lead the world to the future. Just because a few smart people that you can remember at your age doesn't mean there is anything to worry about.

geeogree : well that computer your on if I gave you a crap ton of rocks could you build a computer not very likely. The world is ran by smart people and smart people that understands how to work the tech that makes our everything go right. Steve jobs was an example he was the first to pop into my head don't be a twit about it. But as soon as smart people die a clock starts ticking and when it hits zero the power goes out and with it the Internet so we won't be able to fix anything.

I'm tempted to close this thread to stop you from showing yourself as being just another person representing the thread title.

Would you be able to make a computer. See you don't get how our tech is a bunch of tightly intermingled parts if we didn't know how to make one piece and nothing else would work we wouldn't have computers now every little advancement has had a different hurdles and are made from different components like rechargeable batteries do you think the owners of the factories that build the phones knows how to build the phones no if that tech didn't exist we wouldn't have cell phones you have to consider that everything is intermingled if you drew a technology tree it would look like the funkiest spiderweb ever. The situation is unlikely but the people that realy know how to build the tech we use if they died or lets go smaller say all the people that knew how the power plants worked and could fix a problem with the plants if the occurred just vanished for no reason at all we don't know why or where they went they are just gone then a problem occurs ok but no one knows what to do power goes out every where and we are in a mess.

Fallman7 : I have ADD.

Stop using it as a crutch for the love of god before I jump off the "per verbal chair."
