ol skool when it comes to cars, accesories, and lifestyle, but when it come to gadgets, definetely new skool, cuz i like gizzmoz and gadgets with some new versios of technos like mobile phones, loptop and everything, so i am choosing new skool, but i love ol skool to so i love them both...

ehhh old school games took so much more skill

I like both the old skool and new skool games. Old skool because they had better story lines that when we have today. As for the new skool games, I like them because you can play online with different people around the world.

I would have to agree on that. That would be cool to take some of the old school games and play those online. That would put them over the top. Hah.

My heart will always belong to old school games including playstation2.

Well I mostly grew up with Old School and I never assed myself to buy any new consoles.

I grew up with old school games too, but I think that most of the new school games are better. The image, graphics, and sound is much clearer in the newer games.

I have to choose Old School gamer. I play my SNES, NES, GBC, G&W handheld to this day.

I even bought extras of my games on my Wii (Virtual Console).

well, old school is a lot harder than new gen, but i like a lot more newer games then i do older ones, so new gets my vote. also, graphics are important to me, so i really cant play a lot of old games.

I play both, and love both (can't wait for Halo Reach), but old school gets my vote. As proof, I'm on here in the RGR twice as much as I'm on my DS or Wii. I love the classics, from Sonic to MegaMan, from Mario to Zelda, and will continue to play them as long as I can. Go Kirby!

That's all I have to say (Just Kidding Hahaha-NOT-).

I'll have to say that Old school games are better since as my saying goes, 'you can't beat the classics'. What I mean by that is that if it wasn't for the classic games, all of those new Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games wouldn't exist (Just to name a few). So, you could basically say that they are the foundations of what we call Video gaming today.

Aside from that though, you really can't compare them, as thay are from different generations in the video game history. So if you grew up with Nes and Gameboy games, you would vote for Retro games, whereseas if you grew up with the Playstation and Playstation 2, you would probably vote for the Newer games.(Not necessarily true, I'm probably wrong about that, as some newer generation people might like retro games, but you get the idea). Both of those categories are decades apart from each other, and you can't say that Nintendo Wii games are better, because of their graphics, since NES games were created decades before Wii games were even thought of.

So what i'm saying is, both generations of consoles are excellent, but if it weren't for the retro games/consoles this thread wouldn't even exist, as the new games wouldn't.

I say the new game were COOL, but the old games were much harder and trickier, so yes I am an old gamer.

You know DarkHyren, I agree at every word you just said to this thread, the only reason that I am not playing the new games is that they are very easy( not all of them).

I have to say that storytelling in games is becoming a bit of a lost art.
It seems that most people now would prefer something with lots of generic things to kill rather then an in depth story and detailed characters.
For example, Soul Reaver. Huge story with lots of twists an turns.
Maybe half of the game is story with the other half being puzzles and some action.
But I love the series and to me it's alot better then something like Halo (oh look, another generic thing to shoot, didn't I already kill like 2,000 of those already? Why am I here again?).
A game is just a waste of time without a proper story to back it up.
