Hello everyone, this is a PHattie54 review. (See what I did there?) Anyways, Cabal was an arcade classic that was fun and hard. The two best words to describe this game are fun and hard. When it got ported to the NES, you may think the game would suck, like other ports. NOPE! If you thought that, then you are dead wrong! Alright guys get out your assault rifles and let’s march over to the battlefield....my desktop. OK, I bought up Vizzed, now let's fire it up! Graphics: The graphics are very good for the NES. The helicopters, enemy soldiers, you, the buildings, grenades and everything else are clear and easy to identify. The walking and running animation is awesome! I don't have much to say in this section so here is the rating. 10/10 Sound: Games are about game play, but graphics and sounds matter a bit. The main theme is just a 10 second loop, but it sounds pretty cool. The boss fight themes are freaking epic and suit the moment. The gunfire's good and the grenade sounds good as well, just a bit funny. I honestly get a bit tired after listening to the same theme over and over so, 8/10 Addictiveness: ALWAYS thinking about this game. Enough said. The option for 2 players makes it all better. I'm thinking about running a Cabal marathon with my cousin soon. There’s also a scoreboard, but I don’t really think anyone will care about. After all, it’s not Atari. But it still is fun to try to beat the top score, no matter what console you’re playing. I don’t think the scores save, but whatever. 10/10 Story: The whole game, you were fighting a terrorist war. There is more to the story, but I never beat the game so I don't know. I'm not being lazy, just didn't beat it. I'm not going to put a random number; that isn't what a reviewer does! So, I'm going to leave it blank. I’ll look up the ending maybe, and we will see… ??/10 Depth: This game is so awesome, and here is why. You can do a roll (not a barrel roll, which, by the way, is actually called an aileron roll. Just thought you’d want to know LOL) to dodge bullets, run to go faster (DUHH), throw grenades, pick up new guns, and much more. The fights against the bosses are very unique. You got helicopters, submarines—wait a sec. I don’t want to tell you who the bosses are; I’ll just spoil the game for you guys. So I will just talk about the normal enemies. Foot soldiers (not from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), the “ELITE SOLDIERS” (I call them that because they are better than the normal ones, as they can roll to dodge your bullets, like yourself. They are also armed with grenades!), just normal helicopters, tanks, trucks that drop off more enemies, and so on. This game is also special for one thing mostly, which is how to aim your gun. You crouch so you can’t move. Then you can move the aimer around and shoot everything!!! You can also run and gun, too. It’s not just that one position you can shoot in. We are NOT talking Terminator standards here! It seems hard at first but you will get used to it. Like I always say, {this game’s depth is deeper than the Atlantic Ocean!} 10/10
So I guess that concludes my review, I hope you enjoy reading and I hope this is the featured review of this game. Yeah, I’m a beggar. PLEEAASSEEE!!!! Ha ha alright guys, this was the Hippie and I hope you all have a great lifetime.
P.S: If you don't like it when my reviews come out in this shape, I apologize. When I'm in the middle of a review and I want to finish it later, I copy and paste it onto a Microsoft Word document. So, If you don't like it, tell me, so I can fix it. *more damn work.* JK Hello everyone, this is a PHattie54 review. (See what I did there?)
