I actually liked Marvel Ultimate Alliance a lot. I would have gladly paid $60 for what I got, but that's just me.

On the flip-side, there have been games I thought were kind of disappointments.

There are also things that were complete steals (I got the entire Mass Effect trilogy for only $30, for example).

If you buy a Toaster that doesn't work , you can take it back for a refund.  If you buy a new video game that doesn't  work, you are stuck with it unless you trade it in a significant loss.  That is why I bought most of mine used or waited until they hit the markdown rack.

The absence of used games will ruin another industry- Gaming Stores in general. Much of their profit comes from used games because people are more willing to buy a used one because it's cheaper. If used games become impossible like the PS4 and Xbox1 are trying to do, many stores won't be able to keep up and shut down. So if you ask me, taking pre owned games out of your local gaming store is like taking the meat out of a Ham and Cheese Sandwich, you won't want it.
