On TC, homosexuality is not considered family friendly, unfortunately. You probably won't see homosexual relationships on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network.

They might dance around it, like when a guy comments how another guy is hot, he'll get strange looks at him. Maybe they'll mention it without saying it outright, like saying "Yeah my aunt had a roommate for years. Turned out she was more than a roommate."

Honestly, homosexuality and bisexuality should be introduced in equal amount of heterosexuality. If a show can air a guy kissing a girl, then it should be fine with two girls or two guys kissing. However, most networks that pander to families wish to not cause controversy or upset their idea of "traditional families." Even if they do have maybe one episode of a show that features a homosexual relationship, I have heard they will boost the rating JUST because of it, which is extremely wrong. It gives the message that homosexuals are an inappropriate part of life.

Since homosexuality is in the minority, though, it will probably never be treated equally in the media; tend to only see horrible stereotypes or treated as an exotic commodity. About as bad as saying "hey look! I have a black friend, I'm not racist!"

Fair enough and I agree but I still think people seem to have different views what all this family friendliness jazz in the end of the day is all about.

I, personally, feel that if children are around a happy, loving environment where they can thrive and grow, it doesn't matter who the family is. I have seen families where the child can't understand what their grandparents say, but when they are around each other, they give hugs and smile and are obviously happy. There is a lot of controversy over this topic, and many different stand points, but if I were to state my own opinion, I'll always say that people should be happy. You can happily display your love to someone without being around other people, and it is, in fact, more intimate to do so. If you publicly display your lust towards someone, there is less intimacy because you are now sharing your feelings not just with the person you are with but also with everyone around you.

JakandLufia : Whether or not you believe homosexuality as a sin, you must be kind about it. You seem to be coming across as an angry person, and feel strongly about your beliefs with little regard to the thoughts and opinions of others in this tread. So, now, I have a verse for you (which, in turn, can also be relevant to religious views towards this topic):

First John 4:19 - 5:4
"We love because He first loved us. If anyone claims love towards Him yet hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whomever loves Him must also love his brother. Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ, born of God, shall love those born of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments..."

And because of this verse, my faith supports my decision to be supportive of those who love someone of the same sex.

My uncle is gay, so I was introduced to it at an early age. I'm heterosexual, ans completely comfortable with my sexuality. I'm not afraid to call people, regardless of gender, good looking. I hate it when people bring the bible into this conversation, especially since Leviticus is basically property management. What's that, you took a woman's virginity, in or out of wedlock? Well, that's enough reason to kill you. Logic = deniable

I have to say dating the same sex or dating the opposite sex is the same thing.  You have love for one another. 
Even though in the media they are thought to be two different things in my family it's being taught to be the same.
My brother brings his male partner with him to all the family get together.  No one bats an eye not even the children.  They even might share a kiss like any other in love couple in my family.  Just like I did when I was with my boyfriend. 
Romance is part of life and should be thought of as family friendly.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be. Regardless of your beliefs how someone else lives their life sexually really has nothing to do with "family friendly" It's not like they are telling you their adventures in the bedroom. If they were, it would x-rated no matter WHAT your sexual orientation or beliefs.

I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be as of it's your choice and the family members around you have their choice. If they want to do that then that is what they decided and nobody should judge.. a lot of parents are like this it seems but what they don't realize is their kids will make their own choices in the end.

I don't see why people think Homosexuality is not family friendly. I mean, it's natural, it happens inside nature, and it's not like Homosexual people can decide whether they are or aren't Homosexual. Nobody should judge people on their sexual preference, it's genetics not a choice.
It's the same as a straight couple kissing in public as a Homosexual couple kissing.
