Well I played this port before so  I will give my thoughts on it  . First of all this port of mk2 was only released in Japan it didn't get no us or Europe release . So that's why people say the ps1 version of mk2 is rare

Graphics These graphics are to be perfect sense this was a 32 bit system  every thing looked and moved like their arcade sprites and stages .So graphics for this game gets a 10 there arcade perfect

Sound The Sound is off and some had been replaced or missing so some sound variety in this game is gone . The soundtrack the soundtrack in mortal kombat 2 for pox just sounds like junk compared to the Super Nintendo  and arcade versions . First of all the ps1 didn't even use cd quality music which is sad because it could have been perfect  it used the midi music from the pc version and you ll notice that during the credits screen. So sound is alright gets a 5

Addictiveness - NA I don't really see a point were you would wait through load times of a version of mk2 when there are much better ports out there heck it loads even for the pit fataity . The load times just makes the game unbearable  and the werid projectile glitch makes the game too easy

Story -5 same as the arcade version you have to stop shao khan it has the arcade ending pics and arcade intro pics

Depth the PlayStation port offers various cheat codes and neat stuff as well the hidden characters but the load times are a bit too long for anyone to enjoy . But still depth gets a 8

Difficulty this game has a bug were you would always be able to fire projectiles at your foes and they would never avoid it so that ruins the challenge . And not to mention the load times . So difficulty gets a -1

overall this port gets a 8.7 alright  I would say more but the PlayStation port of mortal kombat 2 was programmed by probe software so this port was mainly butchered  it would have been better if it was programmed by sculptered software the same people who did the good snes port of mk2  after all its is decent but a rare one to find

more reviews  coming soon  this port should have been better though

SuperCrash64 : Nice try on the review but there are a few things that need work.

It always bothers me when people abbreviate the Playstation as "PSX" A, that is the name of an emulator, and even a DVR system that also doubled as a PS1 and PS2, but it should not be used an abbreviation for the original Playstation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_%28DVR%29
Also I noticed that you put "POX" on accident in several areas.

I appreciate the spacing you put in the review, although it is inconsistent. Double-spacing would do just fine. You should keep this consistent throughout the review.

Lastly, In your review you made it sound like the game is a pretty horrible port of the original and that you generally didn't really like the game, yet you give the game an 8.7 which I personally consider to be a pretty decent score. Why the inconsistency there?

I don't remember if I played this port or not although I will say that I always played MK games on my Genesis. After the first two I got kinda burnt out on the series and didn't play it for a long time.

Jordanv78: because the  PlayStation version could have been a perfect port but it was butchered by probe software I played I say its alright but I rather play the super Nintendo port of mortal kombat 2

sorry about the pox issue I will edit that and fix it. And if you do your research psx was not a emulator but some people called it that for short letters of the playstation

SuperCrash64 : I'm just saying if you read your review you pretty much state the whole time you didn't like it, but then give it an 8.7 which in a lot of peoples book is a pretty darn good score.

Also, I will bring it up again. What is the deal with your spacing?

Anyways as far as the PSX issue goes, although some people on the internet insist on calling it that, PSX is not an abbreviation for Playstation. PS1 would be more acceptable. If you look at the link that I posted in my previous statement the PSX was a DVR unit that was a PS1 and PS2 combined. That's all I'm saying.

You can keep it all you want, I'm just pointing it out that it's incorrect.
