So I'm sitting here at work, slowly freezing to death...ok, ok, it's not that bad. My boss brought in a space heater, which is nice, but it's freakin 2 degrees F out there (-13 degrees C, I looked it up) and the wind chill is -10 degrees F (-22 degrees C and boy, does that make it sound even worse!). And guess what day our heating system chooses to conk out? It's getting dark, too, which means the temp is dropping fast and our poor little building can't keep the heat in enough. And this is one of those 24/7/365 never allowed to be unmanned businesses, so even if the roof blows off, I have to stay and man the alarms. Yay.

So anyway. Here I am, and I'm starting to sniffle and I think I might have a fever and I thought, just for fun, I'd look up cold remedies on the interent. Amongst the new-age herbal supplement offers I found an amusing article about folk remedies and read it.l I admit, I am skeptical in general when it comes to things like this, but now I'm left wondering: any of you hear of any of these remedies? Anyone actually try any of them? Do they work? Cause i just got over one and it looks like I'm heading for another bout, so being able to smack off another round of cold and/or flu would be great.

And before anyone says anything, yes i know about vitamin C and I take a supplement. Doesn't seem to help me, but I'm not going to stop taking it and see if it's worse or not. I'd rather not take that risk, cause this is bad enough thank you.

supercool22 : Uh, yes, I was, sorry if I wasn't clear on that point.  I'm talking about being sick with a cold, and wondering if anyone's tried any 'at home' remedies that might have been passed down by their grandparents or elders of some kind.
