I was wondering of what model/brand of computer that has a good amount of Memory and Hard drive since I'm currently looking for a computer online that I could download game Emulators (Like Ds or Wii, of course I'm going to get the vizzed Emulator For GBA games or anything else on here) and having Skype and Minecraft on it and can run together without making my computer lag too much like what I have now does (HP 635 notebook) but then again it has a lot of stuff downloaded on it that I never intentionally wanted downloaded on it. I'm also trying to stay on a budget of around $300. But like I said I was wondering if anyone could point me into a direction for a computer I could get.

Thanks! ~*Pokefreak219*~

Idk, I can't recommend a computer...Yep. I'm a total noob But you can always uninstall some stuff, And if you don't wanna lag much try downloading Gamebooster, Or something else that could speed up ur pc, Let's say, Tuneup utilities. And for memory, You can always buy Ram...

DwarvenKnuckleBuster : Even though i can totally agree with what you are saying, but the reason why im getting a new computer is, yes, for lag purposes but also because my mom mainly uses the computer i can use, so i need one that i can use myself and be able to go on the computer more frequently. I really shouldve stated that, sorry lol.

Pokefreak219 : Well, Just buy another computer, the same as you have But if you need to stay around $300, You can always buy small computers...My mom bought a small one, Around $250 I guess thats cheap. The prices for computers these days IMO are just massively high. But I'm only saying that cause I don't know how much money you exactly have

When deciding on a new computer, it is good to ask yourself what you plan to do with it. Seeing that you will want to play Minecraft and game emulators, you are going to need a decent amount of RAM and hard drive space as well as a nice processor. Let me use my own laptop for a baseline.

Windows 7 (x64bit version)
Intel CORE i3 processor overclocked at 2.4 GHz
4 GB RAM (only 3.68 GB is available)
500 GB hard drive

I paid $400 (before tax) for this thing. Minecraft may run with some lag at times, but keeping Java up-to-date will minimize this. The worst experience I had with emulators was using one for Pokemon Black. The framerate wasn't choppy, but it was slow going the whole time. Emulators for retro games shouldn't be the biggest problem. To my knowledge Vizzed's emulator has yet to be tested on Windows 8, so you may need a wait for that.

If you plan to run Minecraft and Skype at the same time, you are going to need a computer that is better than mine. Be careful if you try to upgrade your processor. Intel is no longer producing processors that can be switched out. Although I doubt this will matter to you, I thought you should know anyway.

Other tips to keep your computer running as fast as possible. Try to keep all of your drivers up-to-date. Some of the updates will not come through Windows, so you may need to search the Internet for them. Also, fragmentation occurs on your hard drive when you download and/or delete stuff often. Defrag your hard drive to reorganize your stuff, that helps your computer find everything faster.

I doubt you'll find the right computer for only $300, but good luck.

I wouldnt focus too much on Brands/makes as whats in it.

If you want to be able to use the rgr, you really want at least 2gb RAM, but i always recommend 4.
You also want at least dual, but advisably tri core processors. At least about 2.3 ghz.
And the last consideration id put is harddrive. I put that last because you can, at any time, buy an external one if you want so thats noot an urgen requirement.
Id also say get 64 bit but if youre getting it new, it probably will be any way.
Oh, and make sure theres a decent warranty on it. Dont overclock it either, it invalidates the warranty and makes more heat.
A decent graphics card is a good consideration too, it takes some of the load off the processor.
Bear in mind you can, at any time, switch out things like RAM or graphics card, so if you dont want to wait, you can buy what you can afford now and then upgrade it latter. I pulled the Ram out of my old machine and fitted it into the new one.

Don't worry about the "brand" of the computer, just what specs. If you want stable, playable frames per second on the RGR, you should go with a strong dual-core, I recommend the Intel Core i3. Or if you want a quad-core (which I would recommend)  I would go with an Intel Core i5. 4 GBS minimum of ram, this is a must for most computers. For the GPU (graphics card) all really depends if you're going to play games. Still get a decent one.

I recommend the Dell Inspiron 17R. It's fast and can run almost anything you spew at it.

Also, If you choose to buy this, get these specs:

3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i3-3110M processor (3M Cache, 2.3 GHz
)Windows 8, 64-bit,
 English17.3" High Definition+ (900p) LED Display
 Truelife6GB2 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
750GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
8X Tray Load CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)
Intel® HD Graphics 4000
