In your opinion, which pokemon of Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, is the best starter pokemon to choose at the beginning of the game and why?

In my own personal opinion, I'd say Charmander because with certain learned moves, he can be good against even water pokemon.

In my opinion Bulbasaur is the best starter, it learns its moves quicker then the other 2 and is effective against alot of the gym pokemon.

I'm going to have to agree with the Charmander to Charizard thing. Bulbasaur may be better than Charmander but Charizard better than Venasuar though Venasuar has some pretty nice moves such as the Leech Seed or whatever it's called, the one that drains like 20% of the opponents health based on damage made.

Im going to go with Dark on this one, I've always thought Bulbasaur was the best for these reasons...

- Learns its attacks the fastest
- Does not face a difficult gym leader until Blane (fire badge)
- Vinewhip is such a strong move against earth and grass pokemon which are found earlier on in the game mostly.
- Leechseed comes in handy when your running low on health.

Squirtle. My reasons: Squirtle has the highest defense of the three...I've always used Squirtle, and it always worked with me better then the others, so that's my opinion....A less important reason of mine, is that it's name in Japanese is Zenigame. It starts with z. Z is my second favorite letter.

I have always like Charmander... probably because I started out playing Pokemon Red Version. Squirtle is the only starter become without a direct weakness. But yes, I would have to agree that Charizard is absolutely amazing late in the game.

charmander: if you want your starter to be good at offensive
squirtle: for defense
bulbasaur: if you want your starter to learn many moves that have side effects(poison, paralyze etc.)

I think squirtle is the best because he has these good features:

- he has the best defense

- he turns into blastoise who is awesome

As it was mentioned before, all 3 have their pros and cons.

For preference, I'd choose Bulbasaur.
Other than a varied moveset, Bulbasaur seems to provide for a good gameplay. (not too hard, but not too easy either). Charmander has it hard in the beginning, especially with the first 2 gym leaders, eases through the game once it's a Charizard. Squirtle seems to pass by easily as well, especially when TMs like Ice Beam and Blizzard can be taught to handle the E4 (mostly Lance). Squirtle laughs at the final two gym leaders.

Yeah I don't like charmander ecause h's diffucult to trian the onl gym leaders and people he can breeze throgh is Erika and about 1 0r 2 of Lorei's pokemon.Squritle is a good one to beat some ym leaders nad hard trainers.Only good weakness is Lt. For me? I picked Squirtle when I played, got pretty far with him too. I guess the reason why, is because I had Pokemon blue, and I like blue, so I guess that sort of sums it up.
