Is there any possible way to configure MAME to make my mouse a controller? I want to play games like Arkanoid and Super Breakout, but they're difficult to play with the keyboard due to its sensitivity.

As far as I am aware, this is not possible.  In fact, I'm almost certain.  If you look at the controller set up menus on almost any emulator, there are options for the keyboard and other gaming controllers, but nothing about the mouse.

MAME can support mouse controls if the option is enabled. Unfortunately, I don't know what settings the RGR plugin version has. I notice that by default, some games have mouse controls set, but I can't really figure out how to make the control config read mouse movements... maybe because the support isn't enabled.

Maybe you can take a look at the controls again. If you look hard enough you might find what crazy li was talking about. You might also want to st the controls to keys that aren't as sensitive. I am not sure but I think you can buy a controller that you can plug into the computer and use that to play.

I took a look at the control input on Arkanoid. For the "Dial Analog" it has "Mouse X" registered as the control. I plugged in my mouse and went into "Control Panel" on my computer to see if there was anything I could change with its settings, but I couldn't find anything. I don't know if there's any way to turn the mouse into a "PC Controller".
