If people want to, its fine debating about a faith or lack of it (although enough people over react but whats new there). Categoricaly stating your hatred toward it though, if hatred isnt hatefull, well then, im confused.

I forgot to mention this in my last post: I think everyone's a hypocrite. There are two kinds. The ignorant hypocrites and the aware hypocrites. Power to those who are aware of it.

NotJon : at the very least the invariable connotation of "hostile" is "unfriendly" not in the sense of "lacking a certain polite warmth in the way one receives others" but "unfriendly" in the sense of "having an aggressive and belligerent attitude". That's not an admirable personality trait for anyone in any situation. Even in wartime there's no real excuse for it: if someone's an enemy just stay away from them if you think they're a spy, speak formally and succintly when negotiating a treaty, and let your fists and weapons do the talking in a battle. Hostility proper is just not a good trait for a human being to have. I don't care how people have been treating you: two wrongs don't make a right. Either turn the other cheek, bluntly but calmly explain to the person what they've done wrong, snitch to whomever's in charge, defend yourself if feasible and necessary, or just stay the heck away from whomever's harassing you.

That's the problem with society these days: it's in denial about its own subtle social determinism. Its motto is, "I'm not excusing, I'm just explaining." Nobody seems to understand the difference between a reason and a justification anymore. Sure people can be *expected* to get hostile under the circumstances you've described, NotJon, but that's not to say that they *should*.

thenumberone : Once again, please, use, statements, made, by, me. I would also state again hating a philosophy, sin or a system is much different from hating a person. Just because you don't like a persons philosophy or actions doesn't mean you hate the person. My apologies if it looks like I can't take any questions of it. But just looking for something wrong or distorting it to make something wrong out of it isn't asking the questions, its just a poorly disguised put down. Ironically yet another thing I've seen atheists do in my experience. 

I think this thread should be closed. For one thing, it's at least somewhat hateful towards atheists with the implication that all atheists are hypocrites. For another, it's pretty much been completely answered as far as I can see, and only seems to be starting flame wars now.

warmaker : True it does seems ridiculous for them and is indeed hypocritical.  Mostly what they're doing is just ticking off every religious group out there. Which brings me to a joke I heard.  Most Hated group in America : Atheists so get the F**k out! Hope I don't offend someone but it's true.

Yeah, this thread has died down a bit and it doesn't look like anything worthwhile is going to be said anymore, so I'll shut her down.

You may hate people for what they believe (or don't believe, as the case may have it), but that doesn't mean you can tell people to "get the f**k out" of America on these forums. Whether or not you say you hope you don't offend people doesn't matter. If you can be respectful to people who disagree with you, you will be banned.
