Hey all! I got to the point in the game where you have to change disks, so i press ESC to get out of full screen and then i click on file> change disk> ISO> disk 2 of 2.bin.ecm and the screen pops back up saying to still insert disk two and nothing happens... Any ideas?

does Metal Gear Solid ask to save the game before it asks to switch disks?
if it does and you saved you can try restarting epsxe and loading the second disk.
if it still doesnt load the second disk, you may need to decompress the ecm file.

get this tool: http://www.neillcorlett.com/downloads/ecm100.zip
extract the tool to a folder. drag the Metal Gear Solid disk 2 .ecm file onto the "unecm.exe" executable and it will decompress into a .bin or .img file, for example.
the new file will work in epsxe. you can delete the Metal Gear Solid disk 2 .ecm file now as you dont need it anymore.
just put the new img file in the same folder with your other game files.

let us know what happens

You can also load your iso onto a ghost drive (daemon tools - free) and set epsxe to run on a disc drive instead of choosing an iso.

but how do you configure epsxe to load off of a certain ghost drive?

Nevermind...figured it out and got it to work. If you run it all from a ghost drive it will work and change disks. but is there a free version of daemon tools all i could find was a pro-20 day trial version

Ok nevermind on that too lol i found a free version but thanks for all your help!

You know the game of star ocean and final fantasy? it's aslo been do in the same process above...

Get DAEMON Tools Lite [url]http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon[url]
Install it. Make sure you use the un ecm tool if the game is in ecm type.
Load the MGS disk one with DAEMON Tools Lite.
Run ePSXe. Configure ePSXe to read the "virtual drive".
Choose run from disk in ePSXe instead of run from iso.
Get to the point in the game where you have to change disks.
Use DAEMON Tools Lite to change disks and that should be that.

You need to change ePSXe to run in windowed mode before trying to do the disk swap.
Go to the video options in ePSXe and change it from full screen to windowed mode.
Then do the mounting and swapping and such.
After you get to a save point on disk to you can always change it back to fullscreen if you want.
