Okay so Pokémon Red Version..with all 151 Pokémon?! Can it be true? That is what my exact thoughts were when I stumbled upon this hack, however as excited as I was I soon discovered that all 151 Pokémon are not in the game. At least I haven't found them all, and I'm pretty sure I would have been able to at least get close if not all of them (considering I know the original Red version inside and out). However, because it was just like playing Red Version I gave this hacked Rom a 10. Why not? Even though I didn't seem to find all 151 it was still Red version, and my favorite when both Red and Blue (Green in Japan) came out.
When I started the game I chose Charmander..like I always do on Red version and began my adventure hoping that I would complete my Pokedex with just one Pokémon Cartridge, instead of having to play Blue and/or Yellow. I started north of Pallet Town into Viridan City and noticed that I ran into the exact same Pokémon that I would normally run into in regular old Red version. I shrugged it off thinking well maybe they put different Pokémon further ahead. So I continued on, beat Brock and headed to Mt. Moon...still the same Pokémon that have been there before, but I decided lets press on and see if anything at all is different.
In the end, it seemed like nothing had changed and I had beaten it about three or four times. Oh, well it was still fun and now I don't have to waste some
Viz going to buy and play Red version (unless I decide to anyway
). As mentioned before, I gave this game a 10 because well it is Red version and Red was awesome. The Graphics and the sounds were all the same so I also gave them a 10. Along with the addictiveness of the game, considering I can play Pokémon Red Version for months at a time and still never get bored of it.
There really is no story in this game, so I didn't rate that. The depth and the difficulty I gave a 5 because the game was never really that long or hard to begin with. The only real part that is any difficult at all would be level grinding when needed, and that is not even that hard. But of course, I would play this game over and over again, until the day I die. I love Pokémon Red version and I think any avid Pokémon fan would agree with me that this game will always remain a classic and a huge part of their childhood.
For those who have never played a classic Pokémon game, or has never played a Pokémon game at all I highly recommend that you start here with Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow version. The classics are always the best when it comes to Pokémon. And in my opinion these games blow the new ones out of the water.
