The mistakes Nintendo made with Mario are impossible to list, there's so many I would go as far to say that it makes Sega's mistakes with Sonic seem laughably quaint. (but then, I'm a fanboy so forgive my ignorance)

I have to agree with you, Mario has lust his luster in this generation of gaming. Back in around in the early 80's to around Super Mario 64 he was the s***. Nintendo needs to stop making games about him and do maybe a Earthbound remake.

I found that game all right to be honest, even if it was a rip off of Doki Doki Panic.

Out of the mario games i have played, it has to be Mario Paint for the snes, it can be fun, but anything you can do on that, you can do with paint and windows movie maker on the computer.

Someone really needs to punch you for that statement, I love how the way you complain how Mario 3 makes no sense, when Vectorman didn't make sense at all.

The educational and CD-I Mario games are the worst out of all of them.

how about Luigi's Mansion but am not sure if that is considered a mario game but mario is in like mario is missing

I would have to say that Hotel mario for the Panasonic CD-i is just plain awful, not awfully good, just awful.

For those of you who hate Mario 2, had they put Mario characters into a fun game like Doki Doki Panic and made the game that is on Super Mario Allstars, you would not be playing Mario games. The US would have killed it there.

I say that the worst Mario game i've seen is Hotel Mario. You just close doors. That's it. THAT won't get boring quick. *sarcastic*


I don't really hate Mario 2 that much. Just because it's the same as Doki Doki Panic, doesn't mean its worse than it.

I think the worst mario games are all the ones that are timed those get me so nervous that I can't think straight sometimes it is infuriating.

FORGET the time limit. Seriously. I'll give you three good reasons:

1. The levels aren't even that long. I can't say that I've ever run out of time on a Mario game, and I've been playing since I was four.
2. In case you haven't noticed, ALL of the Mario games that follow the original formula (New Super Mario Bros. included) have time limits, not to mention forgiving ones (three HUNDRED seconds for a level that takes little more than a minute at most? They practically give you four minutes too many!). If you want to play any original series Mario games except for the four (counting SM64DS) 3-D ones, you have to deal with a time limit. Learning to deal with it is the only way to experience Mario's full potential.
3. ... Okay, I lied. I can only give you two. But in my defense, that last one was kinda long...

As for what I think is the worst, it has to be Mario Party Advance. This game is so lousy I haven't seen it anywhere. Not to mention the gameplay is really weird, lessening the importance of mini-games (as if they weren't unimportant enough already!) to, er, cause more frustration through longer periods of board play? I usually skip party mode anyway, there seems to be no way to consistently win unless you're in mini-game mode (the meat of the games anyways). As for all of you pining about SMB 2's non-Mario origins, that doesn't make it a bad game. I actually find it very fun. Now if only I could find that Super Mario Advance port of it...
