Wow. Coco Crisp really blew it last night.

What a wild game that was against the Tigers.

It looks as though Oakland's amazing comeback will be coming to an end sooner than we thought.

Although, Texas came back and won 3 straight against Tampa Bay last year on route to the World Series last year.

I was watching the Reds vs Giants last night and I thought Arroyo was going to no hit the Giants. His stuff was so good last night that the Giants were lucky to get that one hit. The only reason that Arroyo was pulled is because of the long inning that the Reds had near the end of the game, which saw Arroyo come up to bat for a fourth time. The Giants got their hits off of the Reds relievers, minus one hit and one walk by Arroyo.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in Oakland, but I think the Reds are playing the best baseball right now.

I did not get to see the Oriels vs Yankees game, but I heard that the Yankees got 4 runs off the Oriels closer, who was the best in the league this year. I also missed the Nationals vs Cardinals game, but I know that the Nationals won, thanks to a timely hit by some guy named Moore. Game to will be a huge one for both of these series, and I'm hoping that both go to 1 - 1. I would hate to see a bunch of series sweeps.

legacyme3 : Not all yankees fans are bandwagon hopping losers that only go with the big money teams. But on another note. I do think that the O's (my home team) Are gonna get beat. The team I fear is the tigers. They're really good and stand a good chance against any team.

bobq :

Don't confuse "best" for "luckiest".

Jim Johnson may have had a lot of saves... but look at this graph.

Jim Johnson is getting incredibly lucky in regards to BABIP, which is Batting Average on Balls in Play. It takes out strikeouts and homeruns, and only accounts for balls that are within the field of play and result in either a hit or an out.

He is below the average, which can mean one of a few things

1) He's an abnormally good pitcher.
2) He's gotten insanely lucky this season
3) He's facing weaker lineups, due to a league/division change.

But which is it?

Well it's not 3, as he's been with the Orioles his whole career. And it's not 1, since his BABIP has jumped all over the place in his career.

So it's #2. Looking at his stats from a purely paper standpoint anyway.

The last time his BABIP was this low was in 2008, when he wasn't the closer. He followed up this strong 2008 campaign with a miserable 2009 season.

So you'll forgive me, if I think there were 3 better closers in the AL East this season, despite the fact Johnson "led" the stat categories.

Seems like a good game between Washington vs St. Louis. Hope that the Nats get some points cause time is running out.

Oldschool41 :

Not tonight's game. It's marred by errors, and poor pitching on the Washington side tonight. Just winning one in St. Louis is good though, means they just need to win 2 at home.

The Cardinals aren't even playing good baseball. I maintain that they are the luckiest team in baseball.

Beastmode64 : I think its a guarentee since Hamilton is done for the rest of the post season. While Caberera still has 3 games to put any last minute doubters to rest (now I think he wants World Series MVP as well).

Uh... Miguel Cabrera already won the Triple Crown...

That's a regular season thing. Post season stats don't count for the regular season.

Man that Yankees first run was crazy.

Ichiro dodged the Baltimore catcher twice and got in there to touch the plate before getting tagged.

Ichiro was a huge pick up for the Yankees. How fortunate.

I agree with both you. Ichiro is important to their team. Go O's, even though I'm a Detroit fan. I just don't want to play at Yankee Stadium, but that would be better than somehow getting beaten by the A's.

Oh man, Jim Johnson is coming in.

I hope he can close it down, or everyone in Baltimore is going to want his head for blowing two games.

YES!! Good job O's. We needed this game. Becuase we're going to lose 1 more against C.C so we needed this game to have a chance at winning the series.

Alright! Nationals lost, Yankees lost, its a good day for baseball.

Tomorrow, Oakland wins, Reds sweep. That is my prediction.

I can't see the Athletics getting swept, and I can't see the Reds losing to the Giants, especially since Lincecum pitched in the last game.

The Giants are not allowed to get swept >.<

At least win ONE game and save face... I'm really disappointed in Bumgarner too. I really thought he'd do better than that.

bobq: I agree that the A's will win tonight; but I can't buy the Athelitcs because they have to win these next 2 games and then have to face that idiot Verlander again.

Crazy Li : Giants haven't really been doing well this year, since Luncecum has been doing poorly on the road pitching.

Oldschool41 : The Giants have been inconsistent at best. They looked terrible at parts of the year, then won fine. They balanced out enough to make the playoffs... but... offense really isn't there to do more and pitching isn't as solid as it usually is.

At least the rivalry I have going on with a friend continues in my favor. He's a Phillies fan and always bugged me about Philly doing better starting around 2008 when they actually decided to win for once. Then I got payback when the Giants directly beat them head-to-head in the playoffs and went on the win the World Series.

I noticed a pattern last year about the Phillies. They won the WS in 2008, last it in 2009, lost the NLCS in 2010, and the NLDS in 2011... see where I'm going here? They keep regressing one step back each season. At the end of last year, I predicted the Phillies would continue this trend and not even make the playoffs at all this season. He, of course, thought this was an absurd notion because the NL East was too weak for any other team to even challenge them. Well, looks like I was spot on :p

It must not be forgotten that the Phillies had some key injuries this year.

Ryan Howard and Roy Halladay to name their 2 best. They also traded a few players who were key in the past midway through the season.

The Phillies are considered rebuilding, but they will rebuild very fast and get back into the playoffs in a year or two. It is very possible that they will need to play a wild card game to get there though, as it doesn't look like Washington or Atlanta will slow down any time soon.

I hope Halladay gets a chance to win a World Series before he retires. I just hope he doesn't go to a team like the Yankees.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
