For those of us who have heard of Project Glass avert thee eyes... everyone else take a look here to see a little bit of the future. The background for those of us who have no clue about this is simple.  Google is trying to create a headset that will basically act as a smartphone and react with its surroundings.  They are pretty expensive pieces of equipment ranging in the high 1,500$ area. Now that we've had a brief history lesson on to the issue at hand.
The latest news is that the public has been informed over and over again that we will not see the hardware for consumers until Project Glass can fine tune and perfectly define the features of the headset.  Lets talk about the concept of Augmented reality for a minute.  Imagine this, you step out onto the street after you've had your breakfast and after a good quick stretch you don your Project Glass headset.  WHAM!! Everything around you has now been digitized and interacts with the reality you are in.  The path to school or the mall becomes a visible colorful rainbow road in front of you and with every step the road literally rises to meet you.  The surroundings are analyzed every second by your headset and technology nearby is understood and sent to your eyes with a display of what you can do with it.  Mapping out the wheres and who's in front of you would never be more interesting as even people around you can be downloaded and scanned to become virtual reality opponents. The concepts of voice activation while not new becomes incredibly convenient, and other tasks become much safer with out the interference eof something attached to your hip or in your hands.  Just close your eyes and imagine just for a minute wearing a headset that literally becomes a part of your senses reaching out further than a normal humans body can do and reporting it all back to you whilst you communicate with it at your disposal hands free. That being said according to the latest display of the device in New York this week at a fashion show, we are getting closer to the release of this product.  I hope Google leaves mind control to the psychics.
