sedo45 : In the Nintendo 3DS Main Menu, Go to System Settings and go to Internet Settings. Go to Connection Settings and choose New Connection. Choose Manual Setup and go to Search for Access Point. Your Nintendo 3DS will search for an Access Point. Now choose an Access Point  you want to connect to. If the Access Point has a WEP Key, enter the WEP key and choose OK. Your Nintendo 3DS will say "This Access Point will be saved as Connection 1/2/3, Is this OK". Now choose OK. Your Nintendo 3DS will save your Settings and it will do a Connection Test. If the Connection Test is successful, your are done! (I think this is what you mean).

SuperGameBoy1 : Yea i just tried that and the dsiware still doesn't connect to wfc. (i can only use wps because my dad won't give me the key for wpa2.)
Also the ds connection setup option doesn't support wpa2 or wps so i can't do that. The dsi could connect to wps making dsiware able to connect to security higher than wep.

sedo45 : Taken from Nintendo's website: "If your network name (SSID) is displayed on the Nintendo DS with a gray locked icon (pictured below), then your router is set up with security that is not supported by the Nintendo WFC. Playing multiplayer over the Nintendo WFC is only compatible with the WEP security setting, even when playing with a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL. WPA and other security settings are not compatible."

Found here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/wrInitialSetupHelp.jsp

If you need further help regarding this matter it's best to go there. You could also look up youtube videos that might help if you need a better visual.
