trouble with rgr plugin

For some reason when I download the rgr plug in and run it and it starts installing when it finishes it just says that an error occurred and that I should ask here for help in the, so I tried it a few more time then tried the mirror one then tried the vc++ one a couple of times then tried the first one for the last time and that didn't work so I am asking for. Can some one help me with my problem?

Prof Stein : First off the RGR plugin is not compatible with Mac. What operating systems are you trying to install on?

So I am to understand that you are downloading and saving the RGR plugin installer file to your computer, then with the browser closed you are running it?

Do you have updated Windows as well as directx?

I have windows 7 and I did have Google chrome but when I read that chrome might not be compatible I changed to fire fox... I didn't have my browser closed and I'm not sure what a directx is

So you are making sure to save the installer then run it after it's done downloading to your computer, correct?

Also to install the plugin, you NEED to have your browser closed.

Make sure as well that your anti-virus software isn't stopping the installer from running.
