Im glad you asked. In a nutshell, Last.Fm couldn't of put it any better.

Based on what you listen to, Last.fm recommends you new music.

But before you can get to any of the below features you will need to go here, and download the last.fm client. Once downloading you will be confronted with a few options, (Windows), Winamp, Windows Media Player (, iTunes?). Select the program you use (if both, select them both.) then click "Next". It will download the needed add-ons for those programs. Once its done, you will be asked to enter Login details (and maybe even given the chance to create if you dont have them). Once youve done that, take a look around the program. There isnt to much to do in it as such. Its mainly used to control the Last.Fm Radio (More information in future tutorials.) The rest is pretty simple, youve all installed software before.

If your using software NOT on their list you will need to hunt it down. You can find all 3rd party created Scrobblers here. For example, Foobar2000.

From the beginning.

Last.Fm uses a program called "Audio Scrobbler" that uploads song information to an online profile. Which it uses to generate information and lists. Based off my music interests here is a few things it has generated.

Home Page
Last.Fm Home (Logged In)

By looking at that, you can see that it has generated a list of music i may like based off what i already listen too. (Larger List) As well as Events. And yes that is accurate. I already know i like "Dry Kill Logic" and the Clipsal 500 Concert would be AWESOME to go to.

Now, what else does it generate off your music?

Neighbours.

"People on Last.fm with similar music taste to you."

Neighbours List

Once again, purely based off my music taste it has generated a list of users who have similar interests. And guess what, Neojazex (former Vizzed Member) and i actually do like the same music! And i checked those other people out, amazing.

Find friends just because of your music.

Now one of my favorite features is the charts.

Charts

My Overall Artist Chart

As shown by this image, Last.Fm has generated a chart of all the artists i've listened to (there are 440 in total). And has created this awesome chart. There are different features of Charts, Artists, Albums or Tracks? Overall, Last 12 Months, 6 Months, 3 Months or 7 days? Find out, i always find it interesting. Like how i have played Static-X songs 3 times more than Korn, though Korn is played 2nd most! To much Static-X?

Next is Library!

Library

Library Overview

This one is quick and easy. Simply put, this keeps track of every single song you have ever listened to, who is was made by and how many times you listened to it. "Library" makes more sense then ever right? Easy.

There are lots of other features. This should atleast get you started!

Got a question, need more help? PM me, and ill answer it! Depending on your question, it may be added into a Tutorial! Huzzah!
