Title and description says it all.. You can go back or forward in time as much as you want but you can't do both because that will cause a rip in space and time.... So don't do it!!! And why would you choose to go back or forward in time Annnd what would you do? Personally, I would go back in time to correct every mistake and make my future perfect so I really don't need to go forward O and get rich telling peoples future as a fortune teller

You caused a problem within the question itself. If you can only go back or forward but not both, once you choose the direction to go with there would be no coming back to the present. Except for a slight loophole I came to develop. If at the present time I or someone else is capable of creating a Machine that can travel through time, I would choose to go forward and not backwards. For if a Time Machine that can only go forward is developed soon or later one that can go back in time will be developed. Thus allowing me to go in both directions by combining the two into one Super Time Machine.

Time travel itself is a complicated thing, I don't see it ever happening though to be honest, if it was capable somebody would of already altered the history by witch we know it... Wait a second It could be possible if the history that was altered is the history that we call our own. I'll stick with complicated and try not to over think it.

Well, I would go to the past, so, I can see some of the most important moments of the world... 

Gort....... Time machine can only take you to the present time where you live or back/forward in time.. However traveling to the present time you live in is not going into future.  

Well, I'd go back to the 2000's. I'd tell them I'm from the future, then show them our awesome technology of today. (Just iPods, Laptops, and the like.) Then I tell them everything that will happen. And I will prevent it from happening. I will be rewarded as a national hero, then take my newfound supremacy to take over the world sit on my butt, and look at myself grow up. I'd also (try) to fix my family.

If I had a time machine, I would go back into 1912, an hour or two before the Titanic sank. If I did that, I would be a hero for saving everyone's lives

3 time periods I would like to witness would be:

1.)The miracles of Jesus and the early life throughout all the regions in Israel, Rome, Greece etc.

2.)To be back in England during the height of the British empire, and take part in one of the glorious voyages to explore land abroad.

3.)And finally to witness the liberation of Berlin in 1945, when the Nazi's were finally defeated and wild celebrations erupted in the streets.

All of this would be very exciting, but too bad time travel will always be impossible...

I would go forward in time to see video game from the future.

I would travel back to the past to where I was a baby because I had a great time when I was baby and I want to relive it.

if i had a time machine id travel back in time for 2 reasons the first would be to trully see if jesus was real or at least who he sed he was and if i was i would so totally corrupt him with drugs and alcohol and the second would be to get rich as i woul either take something from the past that would be extrememly valuble now or i would invent something to make me loads of cash i may even invent vizzed be4 any1 else >.> <.< hehehe

Obviously backwards so I can go back and coach myself through life and do it right this time. Also I would bet on sporting events and play the lotto. More specifically that huge Mega Millions jackpot would have been mine.

I would use the time machine to go forward in time and see how the world turns out years later. (I'm a bit of a sci-fi show nerd XD) and maybe hang around there for awhile, after all I do have all the time in the world since I could just time travel back to the present time that I left; it would be like I had never left. That's the cool thing about time travel. Too bad its too dangerous and can cause too many paradoxes. For example, changing people's fate (like the titanic sinking). If you saved the people who would've drowned, the world could be drastically changed. Time travel is an astounding and dangerous thing to mess with in real life :which is too bad :/

ClearAsCrystal : It's not like I'm saying going back in time to kill people is a good idea. I'm just saying think of all the senseless deaths and murders that could be stopped by getting rid of the murderers before they could hurt anyone. Same goes for rape and other crimes,but that's getting into "Minority Report" territory and that opens up a whole new can of worms.

Time Travel is a dumb concept that shouldn't exist.

True True but it probably wouldn't exist. Though it was an idea that came up and i agree with you time travel is bad and we all should just go with time and follow our natural laws. But wouldn't it be awesome thing to change something that you did something wrong  OR change something that caused disaster(ex. Nuclear head struck and warning didn't get out fast enough and children were mutated so you go back and save those children) Though it would be bad if something drastic changed...

If I were able to travel through time, I'd go to the time where GBAs were still being sold. Then I'd steal one and escape back to the present time.

I would go in 1987, I could find a lot of NES games, and buy consoles that are rare today. It would be pretty great. And by the way, nice thread!
