Hey guys im new to this, i would really appreciate some help. It seems that this question has been answered numerous times i've read everything that i can get my hands onto im just not doing something right.

So i downloaded all 3 parts of powerstone 2. Resulting in 3 rar files on my desktop. I've been told to click on the first part then extract to a location and then winrar should automatically combine them all of them into 1 single file. For me it does nothing of the sort. However ignoring that error i continued to eventually get all the contents of the 3 parts into a single .rar file. But within that single .rar file there are still 3 seperate .cdi parts.

A couple methods that I've tried include; highlighting all 3 .rar files and extracting to a single location. But my problem persists, that the .cdi files within the .rar files never combine into 1 single complete .cdi file. Well i've tried a bunch of methods that all lead me back to the same problem, that the cdi files inside the .rar files never combine.

I dont understand what I'm doing wrong, I would really really appreciate some help, a step by step starting from having 3 seperate .rar files on my desktop would truly make my day.

hmm, that doesnt sound right, its should extract without errors from part one.
and it wont nesicarily become one file, it only does that if its set that way, it can also become the files of the cd.

so to confirm.
a split archive can do one of 2 things.
it can become one archive (either rar or 7z or zip), which you then extract to get the game files
or it can become the files for the game disk without needing to become one archive

what are the names and sizes of the files you get from the archive?

if you still have problems, i'll download the files later and run through it with you, so dont worry

Tie engine: i downloaded all 3 parts of powerstone 2 from GYR to my computer (i did this to make sure the files should be the same as the ones you have).
making 3 files in my folder. i right clicked part 1 and selected extract here from the winrar options.
it extracted the powerstone2.cdi file to my folder. no problem no error.
it shouldnt matter that your parts are on the desktop, but just in case make a folder and put the parts in that and try again.

whocares8310: i downloaded all 5 parts of jet grind radio to my PC (as above).
making 5 files. i did the same thing as above. same result, gave me

all i can say is it isnt a problem with our files.
make sure you have all the parts, make sure you extract from part 1 ONLY, run winrars test archive funtion if the archive still wont extract properly.
(to test either right click part 1 and select test archive from winrars options or if you dont have that option open winrar, browse to where the parts are using winrars browser, right click part 1 and select test file)
if winrar finds that a part (or all of them) are bad you will have to redownload.

i ran winrar test after downloading and mine downloaded fine.

I'm having a problem with Skies of Arcadia.

I downloaded all the files for both disks.
did 'extract here' for both disks, leaving me with 2 files.

Running disk1 from nulldc isn't working though. It brings me to the dc music player.

Is there a step I am missing?

im just going to run through it.
download all parts. extract from part 1 of disk 1.
when its done extract from part 1 of disk 2 (then disk 3, disk 4, however many disks)

always extract from part 1 only. ignore the other parts just make sure you have them, and all the parts are in the same folder.
remember that sometimes inside the split archive theres another one to extract.
(with dreamcast games your game file will be .CDI for example not .RAR check the extentions)

check nulldc setup guide here: https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/thread.php?id=4630
that tells you how to run the games.
if its not working i'll download the game and go through it step by step for you...

thats exactly what I did.

The file types are .nrg, not sure if that matters or not.

I've looked over your guide multiple times, and found some youtube tutorials and followed through them.

I can't find a point I've messed up with.

no .nrg wouldnt matter, nullDC supports it. i'll get the files off GYR later on tomorrow and run it through to check for you.
in the mean time, when you run it if it brings up the player, what happens when you select play disk from the DC player?

It asks me to insert a game disk.

I'm assuming its an issue with the files, I downloaded Silentscope and it works perfectly.

If you can check the files for me that would be great, if not then no worries. I can always dig my console out and play it on my tv =)

I'm also getting this problem. Any games I load go directly to the DC music player. I've used exoboot to convert the files to a self-booting cdi, no luck there.
