ok, so you download all the parts for ff8, i beleive its 12 for disk one.
next you use a program like winrar or 7zip to extract from part 1 the files.
if the extracted file is another archive extract that too.

next im assuming one of the files you have is "Final Fantasy VIII [NTSC-U] [Disc1of4] [SLUS-00892].img.ecm"

let me know how it goes, and yes, i'll be looking into replacing that file cause the ecm thing seems to confuse alot.

Apparently, just by taking out the .ecm off the file's name, it switches it without having to decode it with the program you showed us, Dark. As for help on FF8, you might get it running, but make sure your system can run the game before even thinking about playing it. Also, try to play around with the graphics, plugin, I would suggest you use Pete's plugin. Start off with by pressing the "Fast" button in the bottom left part of the menu, then try to play around with the other options(specially texture quality and compatibility). If that doesn't solve your problem, then try to read thoroughly the posts Dark gave you.
