The Lord of the Rings is amazing... in fact, I don't think you can consider all of them sequels. They filmed them back to back, it just made everything seem like one big 9 hour movie lol. The problem with sequels are the ones where they wait years to make a new one and eventually it destroys a series but I think Saw is one of those lucky films that fail upon filming back to back...

Anyway, I would say T2 is one of my top favorite sequels considering how much time difference was between both films.

I totally disagree... while I did enjoy Aliens the original movie was much better. It wasn't just about action sequences. It was all about the suspense. Where is the alien now? Instead of a bunch of marines with machine guns blowing all the aliens away.

The Road Warrior (aka Mad Max 2) was better than Mad Max. The first movie had too many wife scenes that were boring, but the second movie had one of the best car chase scenes ever. Plus, the second movie was done almost entirely with stuntmen.

The saw movies kept getting better each time.
The Harry Potter movies have been getting better.
Star Wars 3 is better than 1/2
And the latest one is probably transformers 2 which I watched 2 days ago and it is my fav movie at the moment

Alien and Aliens are two different genres. Alien is sci-fi suspense/horror, while Aliens is sci-fi balls-to-the-wall action.

That said, Aliens is my favorite movie of all time and probably one of the better sequels.

Its a very interesting question but i agree with the Star wars ones apparently Star wars ep 1 the phantom menace is the 5th highest selling movie in and out of the cinema but it was really bad + the originals were better any way

I hate the newer star wars, george lucas litterly pissed on his franchise with those 3 releases. The old ones were great, all 3 of them If your going to make sequals, to it while your in the 80's! Best time for movies!

Sequels that I like out of movies would be,

Well the third one had Mr.T, which is why I gave it props.
But in IV, you got a HUGE Russian guy going at it with a JUICED Stallone. I found that to be the best fight of the series.
