Gentlemen- and ladies.
My screen name is obviously The Darklight Project; feel free to shorten that whatever way you want. It doesn't really matter to me, so long as I'm able to recognize I'm the one being talked to. This isn't the first forum site that I've been on, but this is certainly the first one I've been on that revolves around retro games in such a manner. I'm certainly liking what I'm seeing.
Since this site revolves around video games, I'll start there. Of the various genres of gaming, I like some of them more than others, but I like at least a few games in each genre. My favorite kinds, though, are action/adventure games, RPGs, shooters, fighting games, etc. Out of retro games, Castlevania will always be among my favorites, right next to things like Metroid and Final Fantasy, things like that. When it comes to modern games, my favorite series include Devil May Cry, Assassin's Creed, Prototype, and Mass Effect. I own a Playstation 3, my user name being "Darklight227." Feel free to friend me, no promises that I have the same games as you, although I will certainly take interest in recommendations.
Obviously, I love Team Fortress 2 as well; unfortunately, my computer has decided to be special recently, and won't load Steam properly at all, much less the game. I'm gonna have to wait until my new laptop to continue to stab people in the back.
What other things that make me a nerd... I love anime/manga. The wide variety of genres to read has always fascinated me. What probably got me into it was the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, although I was too young to realize it at the time; it wasn't until years later I really got into it, my "gateway manga" being Naruto. Yes, I'm a Narutard, so sue me. Other series I love are Dragon Ball (the original, Z, etc.,), Death Note, Bleach, Soul Eater, etc., although my true favorite manga series above all the others is probably Rurouni Kenshin.
On that note, I can't forget American comics. Spider-Man has and always will be my favorite super hero. Closely tied for second are Batman and Iron Man.
To be even nerdier, let me list off some of the books I like: the Harry Potters series, the Lord of the Rings series, Jurassic Park, etc. I like books based off of video games, such as the books based on Halo, especially those by Eric Nylund. I've also recently started to read Game of Thrones, and I find myself enjoying every moment of it.
For those curious (which probably won't be many of you), some movies I like: The Bourne Trilogy, anything James Bond, the Lord of the Rings movies (of course, same for Harry Potter), Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, etc.
Another thing I really love to do is to write/role play. I'm a nerd that way.
Now then, I'm going to wrap this up so I can quit boring you. I want to play the games just as much as the next guy. Gentlemen- and ladies.
