Before you read ANY further. I want you to read the requirements. I will explain why we have each of the requirements below. It's POSSIBLE we could overlook one requirement if we really like your app, but if you don't meet one of the requirements, don't be surprised if you aren't picked.

-Age: 13+
-100+ posts a month
-Log on at least 3 days a week on average
-100 Staff Points (this is post hiring... don't worry about it now)

Why do we require our locals at 13+?

It's simply a matter of maturity. We've had 13 year old mods who have worked out though... so if you are 13, it's not the end of the world. Some people are much more mature than their age indicates.

Why do we require 100+ posts a month?

This is just a matter of activity. We need to know we can count on you to be active at all times. As the local moderator manager, I watch this and staff points closely. If you miss quota you and I get to have a talk.

Why do we require 3 days a week of activity?

Again, it's simply a matter of activity. We need to know we can count on you being active as a moderator.

What are Staff Points and why do we need 100?

Staff Points let me know who is doing their job around the site. Every moderator action you do, whether it's closing, trashing or moving threads, I find out about. It's just a way of measuring how much work a person does on site. As for why 100? 100 is just a fair number and it's easy to remember

Hmmmm I think I'll try it out this time, at least to see if I qualify.....

Even though I doubt I'll get the job, I still applied, because I want it, and I've been talking about it for a while anyway. 

I'll try to meet all of the requirements even though I already have one.

Weegee082 : You are ideally supposed to meet all those requirements anyway, not just one. I see you are relatively new so it is hard to show 100 posts a month average, but if you are hired, but that will be required if you do get the position.

Unfortuantly, if I were to try to apply, I don't meet the following requirements:

- Age 13+
- 100 staff points

Age 13+ is easy to answer but I still haven't even become Site Staff yet, so the major problem is that I can't get staff points due to me not being a site staff, so it is impossible for me to apply. But I also have a lot of school until summer vacation, so I wouldn't try to apply anyways.

I applied. It has been one of my goals for awhile now to be a local mod. Hope I am considered for the ones I would like.


Stevie 764 : How old are you? Because the 100 staff points would be the requirement if you got the job, if I am reading this right.

thing1 : Unfortuantly, I am 12. I have to wait for my birthday and get the site staff job. I am focusing on reaching site staff position now, but if possible, I could focus on local mod.

I believe you are misinformed, leggy meant that in the situation that you are hired (the first month is usually the trial period, I believe) that you must meet the 100 staff point quota or you're booted and tooted.

Things have changed since you were a mod.

The first month is more or less the free month. I give the new mods a month to figure out what they are doing, and then I start holding them to quotas.

Only time will tell who will become the new mods here, I wouldn't be too surprised at who leggy will pick.

I think a lot of people are going to apply, now that David made an official announcement about it...
