Depends on what you mean with customization, just fixing up the options will make it faster. Adding addons will make it slower, but Firefox without addons is useless.

Rasenganfan2: Just use FF or Opera and you'll be fine, and some antivirus and common sense.

It has better defenses that any other browser.

plus all those other browsers use IE tech base to run.
so technically all these browsers ARE IE... just with fancy addons and looks...

If you want looks just mod your themes DLL and download styles...

No man Firefox was NEVER designed around IE, Firefox was designed around the Gecko code which was also used in Mozilla.

There's a reason that Firefox is more secure and better than IE.
