No one showed me anime. Back in the 90s, we didn't have cable so we only had about a dozen channels to watch. I used to watch Fox Kids and Kids WB. Being raised by TV, I absorbed whatever was in front of my eyes. Only years layter did I realize that many of my favourite shows were Japanese cartoons or anime. Although I recall DBZ being one of the first ones that I saw, it was Pokemon that I can safely say was my first anime probably. I didn't even start liking DBZ until I was in 3rd grade. Around 6th grade I got into manga. Sometime in high school I got out of manga and anime. In my second semester of college, I got REALLY into manga and anime again. I'm still in it. Probably gonna stay that way now.

My First Anime was "Robotech".
I first viewed it when I was six years old.
My love of the "art-form" did not begin till a hurricane knocked out a T.V. station that broadcast the show after viewing ten episodes. Later, In my teen years, I decided to look up all the things I liked as a child to better understand myself. I found nearly all the things like Baseball, Star Wars, Robin Hood, and Nintendo easily. But when I inquired about THAT show people looked at me puzzled. Like it never existed. (Understand that a "Southern State" had very few modern links to common civilization when I was a kid. No Internet. Just a Library and a few good Schools. Very Ideal with my personal "Hindsight".) So, It became a mystery to solve. According to many studies about human nature "mysteries" are irresistible to the human mind. (We have a built in drive that forces us to solve them. To sum-up the articles I read.) Where is it? What was it? Two Simple questions that I spent five years to find the answers to.
I Ventured into "Hobby shops", "Comic shops", and questioned various and many "Nerds" on where to go and who to talk to. This was a search that was put on hold for development many times. I gained an interest in women, picked up a guitar, and focused on my "G.P.A" studies to pass the time. (Good "G.P.A.", Wrote a few hits that will never grace the radio, and met allot of interesting people.) Eventually I was led to the state capital with a fellow guitarist that had a few similar interests. After playing a few gigs, we discovered a "Video rental shop" that had one copy of a collection of episodes. I paid the fee and popped the thing into the "V.C.R." the second I had 30 minutes to myself before sleeping. I kept thinking that night would end this silly quest. All the answers should be here. The "tape" ran for more than two hours, and I was a different person. When the tape ended I found myself puzzled.
How could anyone forget such a show?
I had more questions instead of answers. Not the expected results. Yet, a happy mistake. What ever the case I found a good show. It makes me happy and reminds me that everyday is a struggle. Nothing In life comes easy. Why people forgot? I don't know. Some treasures are not for everyone. The hurricane that forced my attention to this subject is proof enough. And that is the story of the first Anime show I viewed.
Hope people enjoyed.
Peace.

Well, to start off, my friend was really into Sonic. She always used to draw it and I asked her what it was, she told me it was anime. She also taught me how to draw it, so I started drawing Sonic characters. I then expanded and found Naruto on the internet because I think I overheard it being good, or something like that. I don't even remember.

The first anime I ever watched was when I was like 2-3 years old, and I always loved it. I watched Pokemon all the time, and my favorite movie was the Mewtwo movie. I watched it A LOT. And to this day, whenever that movie comes on, or at my school we're watching it in Anime Club, I always watch it .

I think I found Anime when I was watching normal cartoons when I was younger and never realize it until I start hearing that show shows were anime when I stopped watching cartoons all together, but I am meaning to watch anime once again in the future sometime.

I consider animation with a story to be "anime", regardless of animation style or origin, and I suppose the first anime show that I found out about was Pokémon when it aired on CN. I only looked it up because some of my friends at middle school were playing the generation 1 games(Blue and Red), and being an avid gamer, I had to see what the hype was all about. Needless to say, its gone relatively down-hill since Kanto with regards to the show.

Well, I didn't have much of a regard for anime 6 months ago, even though the first I have watched was one piece or naruto and thought it was weird, but then I decided to compile a list early this year on shows I watched. I ended up searching the internet and asking a friend for more anime, and I find that I love it. Whether it be story or action, I decide whether to watch the anime after an episode and rate it by %.

My obsession with anime began simply because I saw Dragon Ball Z on Toonami one day and started watching it. I watched the  Ocean Dub saiyan saga episodes and that was basically the beginning of my lust for anime. Every day after school in kindergarten, I would get home and immediately turn on Toonami to watch Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z, and I watched both shows until they were taken off Cartoon Network.

I saw scenes of Spirited Away as a kid and it sort of scared me haha.

When I got older though, I decided to watch it again because a lot of people really like it, and then I started watching a lot of anime movies, mostly Studio Ghibli movies.

Eventually I started to watch other kinds of anime movies and then anime TV shows like Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Almost 20 years ago (I am getting so old >< ) the Sci-fi channel used to have a block called Saturday Anime every Saturday morning.
I got hooked the first time when I saw Vampire Hunter D and used to wake up really early every Saturday so I wouldn't miss whatever anime they decided to show.

I found anime, by watching Television all the time as a 6 year old. That is when I started to watch Dragon Ball Z late at night. Then started to come Naruto, One Piece, and Blue Dragon, and from there, I just find more anime I didn't know about on the Internet since most anime I use to watch do not come on any more. I still watch bleach full metal alchemist, samurai jack, inyuasha, and so much more anime. I watch that stuff on adult swim though. Still though anime is one of the most popular shows on the world. In my opinion nothing is more wonderful than it .

I pretty much found Anime when I was watching other cartoons when I was younger, and when I was young, I always like anime more than I like other cartoons, mostly because anime has a whole lot more interesting to watch than anything else and the graphics on anime are fantastic.

Hello there! ..

I found anime through the channel CartoonNetwork, well before it died and started showing junk programmes. I watched Pokémon on that channel, Yu-Gi-Oh and now I watch Transformers Prime. They/were 're the only good programmes on that channel in my opinion.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
