as far as systems sold, yeah probally nintendo.
as far as quality, nobody won, least of all the end users.

i know as far as here in australia id have to say console gaming died with the ps2.

As for quality, no ones a winner really. Cant say Nintendo is low quality, because of low graphics, its targeted at casual gamers who wouldn't know the difference between standard def and 1080p. As for new awesomeness, nintendo definatly swept the market. More user involvement in games.. And the DS.. i mean.. ITS GOT 2 SCREENS!

It's not surprise Nintendo is winning out. They put out a superior product. It might not have the games that some more "mature" gamers want but they targeted a way larger audience than either X-Box or Playstation did. I know there are a lot of parents that purchased a Wii because it requires physical activity to play over the other 2 that wouldn't have bought anything without the option of Wii. Did that make sense?

I think targeting people with 1080p right now is stupid. High definition is just starting to penetrate the market. In order to get good graphics you have to have the nice TV as well. I'm sorry but not many people are going to do the nice TV AND the new console at the same time.

I think the winner is very clear. Nintendo did something revolutionary to the video gaming world and the people responded. Now all those people that moved the controller to make Mario jump farther can actually help him now .

I dont think its just because its leading the way in interactivty like never seen before... Its the CHEAPEST 'next-gen' console on the market, its PERFECT for families as Parents AND Kids can still play it... And the best thing of it all... Everyone loves games that are fun... I dont like Wii's but whenever ive played ive always laughed and had a good time... Dont get me wrong... i love my broken 360 more than i like Wii...

i dont think the wii is the cheapest next gen at the moment.
its about on par with the 360. plus all the gimmicks they have for the wii.

i can honestly say that the our wii has only been played with for a total combined time of 7 days or so for the year we've had it as compared to the ps2 which i still play and have clocked up over 300 days total time played worth on.

by quality i dont mean graphics. i mean things like story.
dont get me wrong, a game of SSB is fun, but most times i want to play a game that requires more then button bashing.

im a rpg'er, i like adventure games. the "best" adventure game to come out on console lately here was fable 2, and that was not much of an adventure if you compare it to older games (star ocean 3, etc).

im talking console specific here. sure theres also fallout 3, but i consider that a pc game.

as for ds, well a large chunk of good ds games arnt even released in stores here. its a good thing i have a cyclo ds or i wouldnt have gotten to play time hollow (awsome) or even digimon world ds.

meh thats enough ranting for now

well, the 360 evidently cost 50 bucks less than the wii in america. probably because microsoft is being heavily sued over the red ring of death

lol maybe i should sue too.. then again.. they are paying for all postage... and repairs (which i assume is code for 'replace')

well, they might lose all of the profit from the 360 because they allegedly knew about the RROD but just chose not to fix it

try replaced with refurbished stock.
GF's brother had to get his sent off for repairs and when it came back it died after like 2 hours of gaming.

if i was to get a 360 here i'd get it from JBHIFI with one of those 5 year warrentys.
that way when it brakes down id get a new one every 3rd time

Does JB cover that warranty, cause EB Games only honored my warrenty for 3 months... :

that's how it works with cell phones too

from what i know yeah, because you pay the extra and they use an insurance company as opposed to just replacing it out of pocket like EB.
thats what one of the more clued in guys told me and information thing i got with my dvd says.

EB and gamestop, both being part of the same company, have horrible policies on just about everything. i'd never get a console from them

Games policy is nice.. 7 days full refund no quests asked... thats handy... i jes buy games play them for a few days, dont like it? Take it back.. no money loss... a new form of hiring!

wrong, that isn't how it is with games, only other items and accessories. they are a bunch of deceptive bastards. if that's how it works for you, i say you are very lucky.
