Then I definitely gotta go with Super Mario Bros. The original Legend of Zelda was not that entertaining to me. It is a good think it wasn't the first Zelda game I ever played or it might have turned me off to the franchise. But they do kick Mario game's butt now a days. Out of those two completely different games (Within style and genre), I'd have to say that I prefer the Zelda series more. Why? They have a lot more actual storyline releases than the mario series does, where they usually have spin offs and sports.

I think that super Mario Bros is more popular, but I personally think that Zelda is the better game. To me you get this big open world, it also took most people over one sitting to beat, it had saves instead of passwords. You also had dungeons, and items. So to me Zelda is better than super Mario Bros.
