Overall: 9.7 - my only problem with this game is the glitches I have seen, skipping the last few words that someone is saying every so often, enemies getting pushed through walls.  but any game as big as this is bound to have a few glitches you just have to accept it.  The rest of the game is beautiful, the interactions with your crew is good, and the mix of fps and rpg is well done though I wish they would have kept the skill level system of M.E.1
Graphics: 10 - This game is beautiful, with environments ranging from boiling lava planets to icy tundra, and even the side quests have a variety of background unlike some games where they just copy and paste areas.
Sound: 9 - nothing special but not too intrusive either the games sound is good in its own way.
Addictiveness: 10 - like other Bio Ware titles with more than one installment what happens in this game affects what happens in the next one and with so many choices to make it would take weeks to see and do it all.
Story: 10 - the main storyline is epic and the side quests are fun.
Depth: 10 - to get everything this game has to offer takes time, between all the side quests and finding all the worlds you can explore, not to mention how the game changes based on what you choose as your back story.
Difficulty: 4 - I like my games like I like my women, not too easy but not so prudish that you have to pick three locks just to get the chastity belt off.  Anyway I like the difficulty of this game.

I really want to play the Mass Effect games. Thing is, I can find Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, but I cannot find the first one, so I don't want to get those until I play the first one Anyway, I gotta say I like your little comparison with the difficulty. Although, I am the opposite where I love games that challenge the hell out of me. Although, a lot of my favorites are not high difficulty. I will play this when I can finally get the first one

I've actually been meaning to go and pick up the Mass Effect games.

There are many good things I've heard of and I thought i'd give it a shot.

Although it will be awhile before I can.

But when I do which one out of the 3 would you recommend?

hackerman : Well, I believe the 3 are all a trilogy story, so for story purposes, you need to play them in order.

rcarter2 :
hackerman :

They are a trillogy, you will confuse yourself if you jump straight in at the deep end.
Because 1 was never on the ps3 i never played it.
They re-released 2 on the ps3 however, with an interactive comic that gave you the basic run down of 1, the option to choose what happened in the past scenarios to generate your starting point, the advanced engine they were planning to use for 3 and a host of dlc free for the system so i was pretty happy.
You unlock info on a massive database too, it has records of all races, wars, meetings of races etc so it straightens things out nicely.
I played 1 on my friends xbox once, it was fun but not nearly as good as 2, and everyone always complains about the layout and controls of 1.
I havent played 3 yet but its the finale so if you play that first, you will ruin the others for yourself.  Also each one uses your save from last game, if you havent played the last one/used the interactive comic, you get a default start, depriving you of certain events and scenarios.
I made several saves on mass effect 2, when i play 3 i will then start again with my alterante mass effect 2 save.
It determines who will be in your crew, who your friends and allies are, to an extent how many resources you have, who you will meet, peoples attitude to you etc etc.

thenumberone : So your saying that I could start with buy the second one and be okay because it provides a comic on the first game events? (assuming the Xbox 360 version provides it). If that is the case, I will probably start on getting the second one sometime soon.

rcarter2 : it was actualy ps3 only to make up for the fact we couldnt get 1 on ps3. it has been ported to 360 and pc now though.
BUT its not free on 360, it cost 320 gamerpoints,so you have to balance that.
Id still not mind owning 1 if it was on ps3 but 2 is far better.
I dont know how much 320 points are in $, if its less than the 1st game id go for it, since 2 is better. Then if you get hooked you might get 1.

thenumberone : Alright. I will probably just go online and read the complete story of 1 before I play 2. At the game stop here, a used copy is $9, so that is really cheap. I got quite a few games I have on my list of 'games to get soon'. I gotta figure out which ones are going to be next
