Hmm I would say the answer A (3 lives). I haven't played the one on NDS but as it's a remake of the original released on N64, that would make sense because in the N64 version, I think you start with 3 lives and everytime you load your game

Stevie 764 : heh heh. Yup. You are right. One thing that bugs me though, is why it resets all the darn time. I think you should be able to save it, but instead of it being so easy to get a new life, maybe every 1000 or 2000 coins equals a new life, and 10 or 15 stars equals a new life. Now, if you run out, you should have to restart on all your coins, keep your stars, and start at 5 lifes again. But, you should have to go back a bit. :/
